JUNE 4, 1962
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Pitzen, Smith.
Absent: Schaefer.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Smith, to approve the minutes of
the last regular meeting held May 14, 1962. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to authorize John Shay,
Director of Civil Defense, to expend up to a total sum of $600.00 as a
budget for the fiscal year, any expenditures exceeding $600.00 to be
brought before the City Council for approval. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to approve the treasurer's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to approve the clerk's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Smith, that the following bills
for the month be checked by the Supt. of Public Works and the City
Clerk and paid.:

RESOLUTION
Alderman Smith, seconded by Alderman Conway, presented
the following Resolution and moved its adoption, the resolution
to be spread on the records of this meeting and a copy to be
presented to Mayme Buss.
WHEREAS, Mayme Buss has served the Village of McHenry
and the City of McHenry continuously during the past 41 years
as Collector, and
WHEREAS, she has been admired and respected for her
conscientious and efficient fulfillment of her duties, and
WHEREAS,her ability and value have been recognized
by continuous appointments to the office by changing
administrations, and
WHEREAS, she has tendered her resignation as City
Collector.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of McHenry extend sincere appreciation, in behalf
of the Citzens of McHenry, to Mayme Buss for the outstanding
service she has given to McHenry.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen voted aye:
Bolger, Conway, Pitzen, Smith
