Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: None. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Etten, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as read. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Conway, to approve the clerk' s report as read. Motion carried. Cooney and Doris Cooney, having been found in order, Alderman Pitzen, seconded by Alderman Bolger, and with unanimous approval, moved to enact an ordinance to annex the property described in the petition. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to pass and approve "An Ordinance Amending The Amended Zoning Ordinance of the City of McHenry, Illinois, as Amended on the 12th Day of March, 1962, pertaining SIGNS - ARTICLE XVIII. Upon roll call the following aldermen voted "Yes": Bolger, Etten, Huck, Smith. Voting "No": Conway, Pitzen. Motion carried. September 4, 1962 meeting - Page Three Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to pass and approve "An Ordinance Amending The Municipal Code of The City of McHenry" deleting therefrom paragraph 56 of ARTICLE VI of Chapter 8 in its entirety. Voting "Yes: Bolger, Etten, Huck, Smith. Voting "No": Conway, Pitzen. Motion carried. Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to approve the appointment of the following committees as made by Mayor Doherty: Finance - Bolger, Pitzen, Smith License - Pitzen, Smith, Huck Streets, Alleys, Sidewalks - Conway, Bolger, Etten Public Property - Smith, Huck, Etten Recreation and Parks - Bolger, Pitzen, Smith Purchasing - Huck, Pitzen, Conway Public Utilities - Pitzen, Bolger, Smith Band - Etten, Conway, Huck Motion carried. The following bids were received on road improvements: M.F.T. Section 11-CS: Suburban Oil Co. - $21,085.19 Steffan Bros., Inc. - $22,534.25 Giertz-Melahn Asphalt Co., Inc. $22,857.50 M.F.T. Section 12-CS: Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. - $19,579.57 Steffan Bros., Inc. - $21,967.95 E. M. Melahn Construction Co., Inc. - $22,219.15 Giertz-Melahn Asphalt Co., Inc. - $22,332.25 Motion by Conway, seconded by Etten, to award contract, designated as 11-CS under Motor Fuel Tax, in the amount of $21,085.19 to Suburban Oil Co., subject to approval of the State of Illinois Division of Highways. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to award contract, designated as 12-C.S. under Motor Fuel Tax, in the amountof $19,579.57, to Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. subject to approval of the State of Illinois, Division of Highways. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Bolger, to pass and approve Resolution appropriating the additional sum of $1500.00 under M.F.T. Section 12-C.S. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to pay W. A. Rakow and Associates the sum of $1843.72, final amount due for engineering services in connection with sanitary sewer to serve proposed industrial sites and adjacent property along Millstream Drive and Maple Avenue. Motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to authorize the purchase of 52 new 2-hour parking meters for use in the Pearl Street-Riverside Drive intersection area. Motion carried.
