HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 11/19/1962 - City Council REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 19, 1962 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Huck, Pitzen, Smith. Absent: Etten. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting held November 5, 1962. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to adopt "Ordinance Annexing Lands To The City of McHenry Illinois" covering Lots 15 and 16 in Owen, Stenger & Allents First Addition to the City of McHenry. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to open bids on new police car. Motion carried. A net bid of $1684.80 from A. S. Blake Motors, Inc. was the only bid submitted. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Smith, to accept the bid of A. S. Blake Motors, Inc. and purchase 1963 Plymouth "Police Pursuit Special" at a net cost of $1684.80. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to adopt Resolution authorizing the City Treasurer to transfer certain funds from tax levy to the Bond and Interest account. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Huck, to pay the City Treasurer $15.00 per month for clerical help, payments to be retroactive to May Ck.#1328 1, 1962. Motion carried. Ck.#1329 Motion by Conway, seconded by Smith, to enter into joint sponsorship with the local Fire Department for a Christmas Tree burning event in January. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to approve the appointment of Frank Johnson as a member of the McHenry Library Baird as made by Mayor Doherty. Motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded by 2itzen, to adjourn. Motion carried. EARL R. WA SH, CITY CLERK DONALD P. 'IOHERTY, MAYOR RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO TRANSFER CERTAIN FUNDS ON DEPOSIT IN THE MCHENRY STATE BANK. Whereas taxes are levied and collected for the purpose of paying interest on bonds and retiring of bonds when due, and Whereas the County Collector makes no separation of cash paid to the city, and Whereas bond and interest funds are now on deposit in the general fund of the City of McHenry and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Treasurer of the City of McHenry is hereby authorized to tranfer 50% of tax money (including back taxes) received from the County Collector during the current fiscal year from the general fund to the Bond and Interest Retirement Fund, and Be it Further Resolved that the Treasurer of the City of McHenry is hereby authorized to transfer such other amounts from the General Fund to the Bond and Interest Retirement Fund as may be found necessary to pay interest on bonds and retire bonds becoming due as City of McHenry obligations during the current fiscal year.
