HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 04/17/1961 - City Council REGULAR MEETING APRIL 17, 1961 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Holly, Pitzen, Thennes. Absent: Brown. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Thennes, to approve the minutes of regular meeting April 3rd, 1961 and special meeting April 14, 1961. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to advertise for bids for new radio for the police car, bids to be received up to 8 P.M. April 27, 1961. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to approve installa- tion of three street lights in the McHenry Golf Course Subdivision area. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to pay the McHenry State Bank :A 2,000.00 principal and $229.58 interest due from the Waterworks Improvements Fund and to reinvest $50,000.00 from the Ck #2306 Waterworks Improvement Fund in U.S. Government securities. Motion carried. Motion by Conway, seconded by Pitzen, to pass and approve ordinance adopting code of general ordinances to be known as "The Municipal Code of the City of McHenry of 1961". Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to adopt the new Subdivision Ordinance as approved. Motion carried. Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to transfer $5854.00 tax levy funds from the General Fund to the Bond and Interest Fund. Ck #14727 Motion carried. Motion by Holly, seconded by Bolger, to purchase new sectional pier (metal with wood deck) for use at the McHenry Beach. Motion carried. Motion by Thennes, seconded by Conway, to pass and approve ordinance establishing the City Treasurer's salary at $300 per year (payable quarterly) plus 2% of funds collected by the Treasurer in Special Assessment accounts. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to pass and approve ordinance establishing the City Clerk' s salary at $4000.00 per year, payable monthly. Motion carried.
