A Special Meeting of the City Council was called by Mayor Doherty on January 9, 1967 at 8:00 P.M. in the Council Room for the purpose of redistricting Wards, and other business that might come before the council. Mayor Doherty presided at the meeting and, upon roll call, the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Etten, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Smith, Wegener. Absent: Conway. Motion by Smith, seconded by Bolger, not to accept the resigner. tion of John E. Looze as City Attorney and request that he continue in that capacity. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Jackson, to pass and approve ordinance annexing Highway Illinois Route 120 through Lakeland Park area. Motion c arried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Etten, to pass and approve ordinance annexing area now occupied by Foremost Liquor Store, Lakeland Park. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Jackson, to pass and approve amend- ment redistricting wards in the city. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to adopt resolution pertaining police training program. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to authorize Fred Meyer, Supt. of Public Works, to hire a person to assist in a survey to determine that businesses in the city are reporting sales tax under code number crediting tax to the city. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Wegener, to pay Chapman and Cutler $300.00 legal fees for services in connection with Storm Sewer and Street Signal Lights bond issues. Motion carried.
