HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 04/19/1967 - City Council SPECIAL MFYTTNG APRIL 19, 1967 A Special Meeting of the City Council was held Wednesday, April 19, 1967 at 6 P.M. in the Council Room to canvass returns of the Aldermanic Election held April 18, 1967. Mayor Doherty presided.. Roll: Bolger, Huck, Jackson, Smith Wegener. Absent: Conway, Etten, Pitzen. The Clerk announced that the Judges of election in each ward had duly delivered the ballots, returns and tally sheets in connection with the election for city officials held on the 18th day of April, 197. Motion by Smith, seconded by Jackson, that the clerk open and read the return. The clerk then opened and read the return which showed the following votes cast for the persons indicated: For Alderman Ward No. 1— William J. Bolger 69 Quentin Walsh 1 Ed Thennes 1 A. Jackson 1 Defective Ballots !� Total Ballots Cast 76 For Alderman Ward No. 2— Arthur V. Jackson 213 John Oakford ILK Defective Ballots 3 Total. Ballots Cast, 261 For Alderman Ward No. 3— Lawrence J. Huck, Jr. 98 Ed Doyle 1 Defective Ballots 6 Total Ballots Cast 105 For Alderman Ward No. !— Frank S. Hromec 32.6 John T. L; cast,ro 195 Leonard L. Bottari3O.D.133 Jerome D. Rogers 278 Richard F. Walinski. 6h Ray Ihl jack 2 Defective Ballots 3 Total Ballots Cast, 5145 Alderman Bolger then presented. the following resolution and moved its adoption: The returns of the election held on the 18th day of April, 1967 having been duly made to the City Clerk, and having been canvassed in open meeting, now therefore be it resolved that William J. Bolger:be declared elected Alderman of the First Ward; Arthur V. Jackson be declared elected Alderman of the Second Ward; Lawrence J. Huck;'`be declared elected Alderman of the Third Ward; Frank S. Hromec and Jerome D. Rogers he declared elected Alderman of the Fourth Ward. Regular Meeting - April 19th, 1967 #2 Alderman Wegener seconded the motion. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen voted "Yes": Bolger, Huck, Jackson, Smith, Wegener. Voting "No": None. The Mayor declared the motion carried. Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn.
