MAY 15, 1967
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Etten, Hromec, Huck,
Jackson, Pitzen, Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Absent: None.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Jackson, to approve the minutes
of regular meeting held May 1st as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Hromec, to accept the recommendation
of the McHenry Zoning Board of Appeals following hearing of March 31, 1967,
and deny the petition titled "In The Matter Of The Application Of Vale Adams,
Eva Bacon Sparks, and Lester V. Adams for a change of Zoning Classification".
The following vote was recorded on the motion: Bolger, "No";
Etten "No"; Hromec, "Yes"; Huck, "No"; Jackson, "Yes"; Pitzen, "Yes"; Rogers,
"No"; Smith, "Yes"; Wegener, "Yes", There being five (5) "Yes" votes and
four (4) "No" votes, the Mayor declared the motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Wegener, to authorize W. A. Rakow &
Associates to proceed with engineering plans for signal lights at the Front
Street and Elm Street intersection on the basis of plans approved by the
State of Illinois Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, and to
include blacktopping of island at the intersection. Motion carried.
Motion by Jackson, seccnded by Rogers, to approve having colored
Soil Maps of the McHenry area prepared. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to approve the application of
the Women's Auxiliary to the Mental Health Center for McHenry County to hold
a Tag Day in McHenry on Saturday, June 24, 1967. Motion carried.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Huck, to advertise for bids for
purchase of a 2 1/2 ton truck. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Pitzen, to remove fence at Park Street
and Venice Avenue and improve roadway through easement considered usable by
the City. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn. Motion carried.
