AUGUST 21, 1967
The city council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener. Absent: Etten.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Bolger, to approve minutes of regular
meeting held August 7th as read.
Voting "Aye"; Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None
Absent: Etten.
Motion carried.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Jackson, to pass and approve amendment
to Agreement entered into the 3rd day of July, 1961 between the Cityof McHenry
and the McHEnry Township Fire Protection District providing that the District
have a voice in establishing salaries of employees operating radio communication
service.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Hromec, Huck, Jackson, Pitzen,
Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None.
Absent: Etten.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Rogers, to authorize and direct the City
Attorney to bring a petition before the Zoning Board of Appeals to classify aZZ
recently annexed land and to make a part of that petition a request to amend the
Non-Conforming use section to permit construction of private garages or accesory
buildings on premises zoned other than residential, but occupied as a residence
prior to its classification in another manner.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None.

Motion by Bolger, seconded by Huck, to approve the appointment made
by Mayor Doherty of John Preston Davis as a policeman, starting salary to be
$450. 00 per month.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None. Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to pay the sum of $462.97 to
interviewers for service in taking Special Federal Census, as certified. (Ck. #67

Motion by Smith, seconded by Wegener, to pay Clark Chevrolet Sales
$906.50 for used truck purchased for use in disposal plant operation. ICk. #4308)

Motion by Hromec, Pitzen, to approve application of the Woodstock
ChiZdren's Home to sponsor a Tag Day in McHenry, allowing one day only -
Saturday, October 14, 1967.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None.
Absent: Etten.
Motion carried.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Hromec, to approve the application to
transfer Class "F" (Package Liquor) license from Holiday Wine and Liquors, Inc.
to McHenry Holiday Liquors, Inc., effective September 1st, 1967.

Rogers, Smith, Wegener.
Voting "Naye": None.

Motion by Huck, seconded by Jackson, to purchase Jeep truck from
McHenry Garage at a cost of $3, 700.00.

Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to transfer $500.00 per month
from the General Fund to the Off Street Parking Fund.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Wegener, to pay W. A. Rakow and Associates
$1,059. 80 for engineering service, and Gluth Bros. $17,994. 70 for construction under
the $95,000.00 Storm Sewer Bond Issue. (Ch. #252 & #253)
