NOVEMBER 3RD, 1958
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Holly, Newkirk,
Pitzen, Thennes. Absent: None.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to approve the minutes of
the last regular meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Bolger, to approve the treasurer's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Thennes, to approve the collector's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to approve the clerk's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Holly, seconded by Bolger, to pay the following bills
as approved by the finance committee:

Motion by Brown, seconded by Thennes, to engage the services of Lee
and Ray Electric Shop to service the city street lighting system (not including
traffic or police signal lights) until May 1, 1959. Motion carried.
Motion b7 Thennes, seconded by Pitzen, to pay Lakeland Construction
Company, Inc. the sum of $5669.41 covering contract for water main extension
on West Elm St. (Baur Ave.). Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Pitzen, to pay Lakeland Construction
Company, Inc. the sum of $6298.22 covering contract for water main extension
on Elgin Road. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to pass and approve an amendment
to code pertaining alcoholic beverage license, Chapter 12, Article 4, clarifying
Class "C" classification. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Pitzen, to pass and approve "An Ordinance
Amending An Ordicance Concerning Zoning" granting variation as per petition of
Herbert H. Freund concerning property located at 202 East Pearl Street as
recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Thennes, to adopt resolution abating
$2000.00 bond levy, said sum being available through M.F.T. funds for payment
of Green St. Bridge Bonds under section 2B-C.S. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Thennes, to enter into agreement with
Edwin F. Reid (Anderson Tree Service) to spray trees as a prevention of Dutch
Elm Disease. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Holly, to adjourn. Motion carried.
