NOVEMBER 17TH, 1958
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor
Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Newkirk, Pitzen.
Absent: Holly, Thennes.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Newkirk, to approve the minutes of
the last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to open bids submitted for
sale of new police car to the city. Motion carried.
Bids submitted on car were as follows, amounts shown being net to
the city after deducting trade-in allowance:
R. I. Overton Motor Sales - Buick - $2500.00
A. S. Blake Motors, Inc. - Dodge - $1342.90
Clark Chevrolet Sales - Chevrolet - $1950.00
Motion by Brown, seconded by Pitzen, to refer police car bids to the
purchasing committee for report at the regular meeting December 1, 1958.
Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Pitzen, to repeal ordinance adopted
March 5, 1958 creating a Plan Commission and to terminate the terms of
members appointed to serve on the Plan Commission. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Newkirk, to adopt an ordinance for
the establishment of a local planning commission, form of ordinance as
suggested by the Bureau of Community Planning University of Illinois.
Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Pitzen, to accept check in the amount
of $100.00 from the McHenry Country Club Subdivisions Association, Inc.
as a donation for snow plowing services. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Newkirk, to adjourn. Motion carried.
