MARCH 16, 1959
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Holly,
Newkirk, Pitzen, Thennes.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Holly, to approve the minutes
of the last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to authorize the City
Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the construction of storm sewer
in Park Avenue between Center Street and Elgin Road; also to advertise
for sealed bids for the construction of sanitary sewer in Court Street,
North from Washington Street to the City- Limits, all bids to be opened
at a special meeting of the City Council at 8 P.M. Monday, March 30, 1959.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to pass and approve an
ordinance amending an ordinance concerning zoning to reclassify property
described in application of the McHenry Columbus Club to "B" (Business
Classification) as recommended by the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion
carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to grant the request of the
Salvation Army to sell tags in McHenry Friday, June 12, 1959 or on the
alternate date of June 19, 1959 in case of inclement weather. Motion
carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Brown, to pass and approve an
Election Ordinance concerning regular election to be held April 21,
1959. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Newkirk, to adjourn. Motion carried.
