OCTCBi R 5, 1959
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Conway,
Pitzen, Thennes. Absent: Holly.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Brown, to approve the minutes
of the last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Conway, to approve the
treasurer's report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Thennes, to approve the collector's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Brown, to approve the clerk's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Brown, to pay the following bills
as approved by the finance committee:

Motion by Thennes, seconded by Drown, to advertise for bids for
Park Avenue improvements under rotor Fuel Tax No. 9-CS. and for separate
bids on sidewalk construction on Park .Avenue and South Green Street
(Elgin Road), bids to be received until 8 P.M., Monday, October 19, 1959.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to accept the resignation
of Paul R. Yanda ee Director of the McHenry Band, and adopt resolution in
recognition of services rendered. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Thennes, that the petition ?'In the
-natter of the application of ^lthoff' s Gas Service, Inc., a corporation,
for a. variation of the McHenry Zoning Ordinance" to allow use of premises
described in the petition as "commonly known as 700 Front Street, McHenry,
Illinois" for the operation of a bulk fuel oil storage plant, and for
�... the distribution of fuel oil be denied.
Upon roll call the following vote was recorded: Bolger, "Yes";
Brown, "Yes"; Conway, "No"; Pitzen, "Not Voting"; Thennes, "Yes". The
motion was declared. carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Thennes, to authorize W. A. Rakow
and Associates, engineers, to prepare an estimate of costs to extend
sewer and water service to the industrial area on West Waukegan Road
west of Boone Greek. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Bolger, to pass resolution to
the Department of Public Works and Buildings of the State of Illinois
for permit to install a 1-inch water service connection under Illinois
Route 120, 20 feet west of the centerline of Borden Lane. motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded. by Brown, to adjourn. Motion carried.
