OCTOBER 19, 1959
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, 3rorm, Holly,
and Pitzen. Absent: Conway and Thennes.
•-- Motion by Bolger, seconded by Brown, to approve the minutes
of the last meeting as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to open bids submitted
on p`3_''c ;venue road i nprovemert under MOtor Fuel Tax No. 9-C.S.
Motion carried.
The folle ing bids were received end checked by a representative
of the State of Illinois TTi_p'hw:ay Department:
Eric Colander Construction Co. $17,840.09
Libertyville, Illinois
Zimmerman &: Kehler 18,010.58
Huntley, Illinois
E. M. Melahn Construction Co. 18,39b.40
Algonquin, Illinois
Lakeland Construction Co. 16,902.70
McHenry, Illinois
Motion by Bolger, Seconded by Kelly, to award contract in
the amount of $16,902.70 for Park Avenue road improvement (MFT 9-C.S.)
to Lakeland Construction Co. the low bidder, subject to the approval
of the State of Illinois 7ighway Department. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Brown, to return bid checks to
the unsuocessful bidders. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Hol ser, to open bids fcr con.-
struction of sidewalks on Park Avenue and South Green Street (Elgin
Road). Motion carried.
The following bids on sidewalks were received:
Lakeland Construction Co. $6,589.20
Colander Construction Co. 7,017.90
Zimmerman Kahler 7,069.1.2
E. M. Melthn Cors 'uction Co. 7,:+1o.80
Motion by Brown, eoonded 1Zr ",olger, to award the contract for
sidewalks to the low bidder, Lakeland Construction Co., in the amount of
$6,589.20, subject to approval of the McHenry- Schools participating in
the project. Motion carried.
Motion by Holler, seconded by Bolger, to return bid checks to
the unsuccessful bidders. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Brown, to adopt and approve
Official Plan Ordinance pertaining areas within a one and one half mile
radius of the City of McHenry. Motion carried.

Motion by Brawn, seconded by Holly, to pass and approve
ordinance annexing land described in petition submitted by Carl Weber
and Dorothy Weber, and William Neumann and Margaret Neumann.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to pay the American
National Bank and Trust Co. interest in the amount of $,3,500.00 and Ck #1919 -
service chap gc of '°.?5 due November 1, 1959 on 4% Sewer and Water
Revenue Bonds. Motion carried.
Motion by Holly, seconded by Pitzen, to adjourn. Motion
carried.
