MARCH 7, 1960
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund
presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Brown, Conway, Holly, Pitzen and
Thennes. Absent: None.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Bolger, to approve the minutes of regular
meeting held February 15, 1960, and special meeting held February 16, 1960.
Motion carried.
`-' Motion by Thennes, seconded by Holly, to approve the treasurer's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to approve the collector's
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Bolger, to approve the clerk's report as
read. Motion carried.
Motion by Holly, seconded by Brown, to pay the following bills as
approved by the finance committee:

Motion by Thennes, seconded by Conway, to adopt ordinance titled
"An Ordinance providing for the issue of $300,000.00 Waterworks Improvement
Bonds of the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois". Motion carried.

Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to enter into contract,
as read, with W. A. Rakow and Associates for engineering service
on Waterworks improvement project.
Voting "Yes": Bolger, Brown, Conway, Holly, Thennes.
Voting "No": Pitzen.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to pass and approve an
ordinance as presented and recommended by the Board of Local Im-
provements of the City of McHenry for the construction of a connected
system of sanitary sewers in area to be known as "Golf View Avenue
District Sewer Extension", a copy of ordinance being attached to
these minutes. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Brown, to instruct W. A. Rakow and
Associates to bring water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer maps of the
city up to date, new maps not be be printed until approved by the council.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to write letter to the State
of Illinois Division of Highways advising of the City Council's interest
in location of proposed changes in Illinois Route No. 120 and U. S. Route
No. 12, a later meeting with the District Engineer. Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Holly, to enter into contract agree-
ment with Ed Reid to spray Elm trees in the City of McHenry as a prevention
of Dutch Elm disease, agreed price to be $3.80 per tree sprayed. Motion
carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Conway, to deny the petition of W. E.
Knight and Madelein M. Knight, his wife) Theodore S. Miller and Frances
Miller, His Wife; LeRoy J. Welter and Florence M. Welter, His Wife, for
change of classification from "R-2" to "B-1", following hearing before
the City of McHenry Zoning Board of Appeals and subsequent recommendation
of said Board to the City Council. Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Thennes, to adjourn. Motion carried.
