HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 06/20/1960 - City Council REGULAR MEETING JUNE 20, 1960 The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen Present: Bolger, Brown, Conway, Holly, Pitzen. Absent: Thennes. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Pitzen, to approve the minutes of the June 9th meeting as read. Motion carried. Motion by Brown, seconded by Bolger, to adopt resolution to State of Illinois, Division of Highways requesting permission to close a portion of State Highways during Fiesta Day parade, July 17, 1960. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to authorize the City Attorney to notify the owner of barn on West Side of Elgin Road, South of Clover Avenue, regarding permitted useage under zoning regulations. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Pitzen, to pay Suburban Oil Company $1163.00 due on contract for surfacing playground area on Ck. #14140 West Avenue. Motion carried. Motion by Conway, seconded by Brown, to hire Henry C. Houck, Jr. as lifeguard at the City Beach at a salary of $60.00 per week. Motion carried. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Holly, to pay the American National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago $525.00 Interest and $5.00 Ck. #14141 Service Fee due July 1, 1960 on Street Lighting Bonds, and $1787.50 Interest and $6.50 Service Fee on Sewer Improvement Refunding Bonds.
