OCTOBER 10, 1960
The City Council of McHenry convened at 7 P.M.
(C.D.T.), Monday, October 10, 1960 as per published notice
and proper notification of all council members for the
purpose of receiving bids for furnishing new water tower,
and to act on other business that might rightfully come
before the council in special meeting.
Mayor Freund presided at the meeting and upon
roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger,
Brown, Conway, Pitzen, Thennes1 Alderman Holly was absent.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to open
bids submitted pertaining new water tower. Motion carried.
The following bids were received:
300,000 gals. 400,000 gals. 500,000 gals.

Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to authorize ' W. '?,
Rakow and Associates, Engineers, to examine bids and make recommen-
`,,, dations to the council at the next regular meeting, October 17, 1960.
Motion carried.
A1derMan Thennes, •seconded by Alderman Brown, with
unanime. approval, moved the adoption of the following resolution: •

Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to pay the
Suburban Oil Company $5,538.30, contract cost of Main Street
surfacing under MFT, 10 C.-S., the city being in receipt of
notification of approval from the State Highway Department.
Motion carried.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to grant the
request of the Woodstock Children's Home for permission to
conduct a Tag Day in McHenry, Saturday, October 15, 1960.
Motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Brown, to adjourn.
Motion carried.
