OCTOBER 17, 1960
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting
with Mayor Freund presiding. Aldermen presents Bolger, Brown,
Conway, Pitzen, Thennes. Absent: Holly.
Motion by Thennes, seconded by Brown, to approve the
minutes of regular meeting on October 3rd and special meeting
on October 10th. Motion carried.
Following review of bids and recommendation by W. A.
Rakow and Associates (Engineers), Alderman Thennes, seconded
by Alderman Brown, moved that the contract for new 500,000
gallon water tank be awarded to Graver Tank and Manufacturing
Company as per bid of $69,710.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Bolger, to instruct
the clerk to advertise for bids for new 1961 Police car. Motion
carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Pitzen, to approve the new
house numbering system known as the Postal Readdressing System.
Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Conway, to pay the American
National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago $3,460.00 Interest and
$8.65 Service Charge due November 1, 1960 on 1% Water and Sewer Ck. #2167
Revenue Bonds. Motion carried.
Motion by Brown, seconded by Bolger, to pay Bob Breuls
Harley-Davidson $1,391.75 for new Police Motorcycle and purchase Ck. #14400
new winter windshield for the motorcycle. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to adjourn. Motion
carried.
