HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 12/30/1974 - City CouncilREGULAR MEETING December 30, 1974 -- 8 p.m. The City Council met in regular meeting with Mayor Stanek presiding. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Pepping, Rogers, Wegener. Absent: Hromec. Motion by Harker,seconded by Wegener, to approve the minutes of the Dec. 16, 1974, meeting, as read. Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Pepping, Rogers, ,- Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Hromec. Motion carried. Motion by Rogers, seconded by Bolger, to overrule the recom- mendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and grant the petition titled "In the Matter of the Application of the Board of Library Directors of the City of McHenry and Youth Organization United Through Hope, Inc. an Illinois not -for -profit corporation, for a Special Use Permit", sub- ject to the City Attorneys approval of insurance and legal aspects. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: Bolger -AYE; Datz-AYE; Harker -AYE; Howard -NAY; Pepping- AYE; Rogers -AYE; Wegener -NAY; Mayor Stanek -AYE; Hromec-ABSENT. There being (6) six ayes, (2) two Nays, and one (1) absent, the Mayor declared the motion carried. Motion by Datz, seconded by Harker, to pay Lakeland Construc- �s ,® tion Co., Inc. $6,861.87 balance due on Lillian Street construction as certified by W. A. Rakow & Associates, Engineers, and to pay W. A. Rakow RS and Associates, Engineers $950.00 balance due for engineering on the � Lillian Street project, payments to be made from the Revenue Sharing Trust Account. - - Voting "Aye": Voting "Nay": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Pepping, Rogers, Wegener. None. Absent: Hromec. Motion carried. December 30, 1974 Page two Motion by Rogers, seconded by Bolger, to clarify the point that the City Council did not create a position of Detective in the Police Department. Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Pepping, Rogers, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Hromec. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Pepping, to pass Resolution urging Congressmen and Senators to vote for extension of Revenue Sharing. Voting °'Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Pepping, Rogers, Wegener. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Hromec. Motion carried. Motion by Howard, seconded by Wegener, to adjourn.
