At roll call, the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pitzen, Smith, Stanek. Absent: Rogers. Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Harker, to approve the minutes of the April 2, 1973, meeting, as read. Voting "Aye": Bolger, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pitzen, Smith, Stanek. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Rogers. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Howard, to open bids on police cars. Voting "Aye": Bolger, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pitzen, Smith, Stanek. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Rogers. Motion carried. The following bids were received, amounts being net after trade-in: POLICE STATION WAGON: Payton Chevrolet, Chevrolet Bel Air $2,885.00 With Air Conditioning 3,210.10 Chevrolet Chevelle 2,297.63 With Air Conditioning 2,622.63 Mitchell Buick & Olds Sales, Inc. (Buick) 256OOoOO With Air Conditioning 23930.00 Buss Ford Sales: Ford 2,975.00 With Air Conditioning 3,290.00 Motion by Hromec, seconded by Stanek, to purchase Buick Police Station Wagon from Mitchell Buick & Oldsmobile Sales, Inc. for $2,930.00 and to include 400 H.P. motor at extra cost of $50.00. The following bids were received on POLICE SQUAD CAR: Payton Chevrolet, Inc: Chevrolet Bel Air $2,297.63 With Air Conditioning 2,622.63 Mitchell Buick &Olds Sales, Inc: Buick 2,500.00 With Air Conditioning 2,850.00 Buss Ford Sales: Ford 2,485.00 With Air Conditioning 2,805.00 Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Smith, to purchase Chevrolet Police Squad Car from Payton Chevrolet, Inc. for $2,930.00 and to include 400 H.P. motor at extra cost of $50.00. Voting "Ave"* Bolger, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pitzen, Smith, Stanek. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Rogers. Motion carried. Arnold J. Rauen, Chairman of the Police Pension Board, presented the Council with a financial report of the Board and the suggested levy for ensuing fiscal year and asked that they be filed with city records. Following submission of a proposed police department salary schedule by the Chairman of The Police Pension Board, Arnold J. Rauen, in behalf of the Police Pension Board and the Police Commission, it was moved by Alderman Bolger, seconded by Alderman Hromec, to table the report to the next meeting of the City Counci 1. Upon roll call, the following vote was recorded: Bolger, Aye; Harker, Nay; Howard, Aye; Hromec, Aye; Pitzen, Nay; Smith, Aye; Stanek, Aye. AYES: 5 NAYS: 2 ABSENT: Rogers. The Mdyor declared the motion carried. April 16, 1973 Page Three Motion by Harker, seconded by Howard, to direct the City Attorney to appear before the McHenry County Zoning Board at the hearing of Harold Pavel,, petitioner, on April 18, 19735 to object to I-1 classification, but to approve the present use not to exceed five years. Voting "Aye": Bolger, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pitzen, Smith, Stanek. Voting "Nay": None. Absent: Rogers. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Pitzen, to pay the American National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago the following due Mayl, 1973: Waterworks and Sewer Revenue Bonds dated 5-1-56. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Howard, to approve payment of $11,172.43 to William Zeigler & Son, Inc. on sewage disposal Ck. #125 plant contract, as certified by Baxter & Woodman, Inc., Civil and Sanitary engineers, and to approve payment of $182.85 to Baxter & Ck. # 122 Woodman, Inc. for engineering services at the plant. Meyer, Supt. of Public Works, to hire three additional men, two to be employed at the sewage treatment plant, one in the Public Works Department.
