FEBRUARY 7, 1966
The City Council met in regular semi-monthly meeting with
Mayor Doherty presiding. Aldermen present: Bolger, Conway, Etten,
Huck, Jackson, Pitzen, Smith, Wegener.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Etten, to approve the minutes
of regular meeting held January 17th and special meeting held January
24th. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to approve the treasurer' s
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Conway, to approve the clerk' s
report as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Bolger, to pay the following bills
as approved by the finance committee: Motion carried.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Huck, to grant a variation
allowing a "B-3" usage for a five year period under the petition
heard before the Zoning Board of Appeals January 28, 1966 In The
Matter of The Application of West Avenue Building Corporation,
D. E. Johnson Tool and Mfg. Co., Inc., and McHenry Eby-Brown Co.
For Variation Of The Zoning Ordinance Of The City of McHenry,
Illinois, and adopt ordinance covering variation.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Conway, Etten, Huck, Jackson, Smith,
Wegener, Mayor Doherty. Voting Nay: None. Not Voting: Pitzen.
Absent: None. The Mayor declared the motion carried.
Motion by Conway, seconded by Huck, to table the report
of hearing In The Matter Of The Application of Herbert H. Freund,
George G. Gilpin and Barbara Gilpin for Variation Of The Zoning
Ordinance of The City of McHenry, Illinois until the next regular
meeting. Motion carried.
Motion by Pitzen, seconded by Conway, to pass Renewal Of
The 1964 Permit Yearly Resolution for work to be performed on State
Highways. Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Jackson, to advertise for
bids for new 1966 Police Car. Motion carried.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Pitzen, to pay the C. &
N.W. Railway Co. A251.67 for claim under agreement of Nov. 27, 1957.
Motion carried.
Pending agreement for participation by all property owners
on the West Side of Front Street in the area of proposed sanitary
sewer construction, no action was taken on the following bids:
Zimmerman and Kahler, Inc. - 89,137.50
Lakeland Construction Co., Inc. - 7,835.00
E. M. Melahn Constr. Co. - 7,612.50
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Etten, to return bid check
of $950.00 to Zimmerman & Kahler, Inc., the high bidder for sewer
improvements on Front Street in the area of High Street. Motion carried.
Motion by Huck, seconded by Smith, to adjourn. Motion carried.
