MONDAY, OCTOBER 1, 1979 8 P.M.
The regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, October
1, 1979. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stanek. At roll call the
following aldermen were present: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley,
Adams, Meurer, Pepping. Absent: None.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Schooley, to accept the minutes of
the September 17, 1979 Regular Meeting and of the September 24, 1979 Public
Hearing as read.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams, Meurer,
Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schooley, seconded by Adams, to increase Class "A" liquor
licenses available in the city from seventeen (17) to eighteen (18) .
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams, Meurer,
Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Harker, to approve the installation
of a small septic system at the north side of the West Campus Tennis Courts
for a 2-station rest room as requested by Board President Edward Neumann and
Supt. of Schools Robert Swartzloff of High School District 156.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams, Meurer,
Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.

Motion by Schooley, seconded by Meurer, to authorize the purchase
of 300 feet of flexible pipe at approximately $5.00 per foot for use on the
dredge owned by the McCullom Lake Conservation Club to be used to dredge the
Petersen Park beach.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams, Meurer,
Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mr. Ed Hammer of the McCullom Lake Conservation Club advised the
Council that the club would loan the dredge to the city, the city would
furnish the manpower to operate it at the Petersen Park Beach and the Club
would still carry the insurance on it.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Adams, to have the city sponsor a
joint retirement dinner in January or February for Ralph Wagner who retires
this month and for George Diedrich who will retire in February of 1980,
both long time Public Works employees. The party would be for city officials
and co-workers of the men.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Schooley, Adams, Meurer, Pepping.
Voting Nay: Wieser.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Harker, to establish one more job
position in the Public Works department.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Schooley, Adams, Meurer, Pepping,
Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Harker, to pass a Resolution with-
drawing all lands within the city of McHenry from the McHenry County Soil
and Water Conservation District.

Mayor Stanek called for a recess at 9:28 P.M. The meeting was
reconvened at 9:44 P.M. with all aldermen still in attendance.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Datz, to donate $2,000.00 to the Elgin
Federation of Musicians for the performance of union musicians at the summer
band concerts.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams,
Meurer, Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Meurer, seconded by Wieser, to authorize the purchase of
three Johnson 2-way radios from Radicom, Inc. at a cost of $525.00 each.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Schooley, Adams,
Meurer, Pepping.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to authorize a $5.00 charge
on all Insufficient Fund checks received by the City.

Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Wieser, to go into Executive Session
at 11:05 P.M. for the purpose of discussing pending litigation.

to purchase some used parking meters.

Narusis to file a petition for rehearing in regard to the Buss-Concerned
