TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 1979 8 P.M.
The regular meeting of the city council was called to order by
Mayor Stanek on Tuesday, September 4, 1979 at 8 P.M. due to the Labor
Day holiday falling on Monday, the regular meeting date. At roll call,
the following aldermen were present: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan,
Harker, Datz, Wieser. Absent: Adams.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to accept the minutes
of the August 20, 1979 regular meeting as read.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz,
Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek read letters of resignation from William Thomas
of the Plan Commission and Ronald Wilkins of the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Both resignations were accepted with reluctance. The Mayor expressed
gratitude to both men for their dedication and service to the city.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Pepping to pass a resolution
commending Ronald J. Wilkins for his service on the Zoning Board as
chairman and member.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to grant a variation of the
Fence Ordinance to John Suta of 4902 W. Dartmoor Drive.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.

Paul Buersetta of 5524 W. Sherman Drive also requested a
variation of the Fence Ordinance for his property. The matter was
deferred until the next meeting so the property in question could be
viewed by Ward 4 aldermen.
Park Director Peter Merkel gave a report on the grant application
submitted to the Department of Conservation, Springfield, for development
of Knox Park.
Dominick Scolaro of McHenry and Woodstock Disposal Company
made a request for an increase in the monthly garbage disposal rates.
The matter was referred to the License Committee for further study and
recommendation.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Pepping, to approve an Agreement
dated August 23, 1979 between Keno & Sons Construction Co. of Highland
Park and the City of McHenry for installation of sewerage treatment plant
additions, to approve the Performance Bond as presented and authorize
the Mayor, Clerk and City Attorney to sign said agreement.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz,
Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.

Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to pay West Tractor
Sales of Naperville, $58,519.00 for a John Deere Model JD 670-A road
grader with payment to come from the following funds: $8,000 from
Off Street Parking; $4,000 from Water/Sewer; $4,000 from Parks and
$42,519 from Public Works.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz,
Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schooley, seconded by Harker, to send certified letters
to property owners on the north side of Main Street informing them that
the city will pay 50% of the replacement costs of installing a new side-
walk on the north side of Main Street and they will be required to
pay the other 50 percent - - if full participation is obtained, the city
will contract out the work.

Wieser.

Motion by Schooley, seconded by Pepping, to approve the
expediture of $1,325.00 to resolve the drainage problem in the 1400
block of Millstream Drive with residents to pay for culvert work.

Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Wieser, to authorize Chief
Pasenelli and Sgt. Zujewski to go to Springfield for the purpose of
determining what grant programs are available for the Police Department.

Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Meurer, to go into Executive
Session at 10: 17 P.M. for the purpose of discussing pending litigation.
Voting Aye: Schooley, Meurer, Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz,
Wieser.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: Adams.
Motion carried.
Motion by Pepping, seconded by Datz, to go back into Open
Session at 11:13 P.M.

Class "A" liquor licenses available in the city from 18 to 17.

Wieser.

Motion carried.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Nolan, to adjourn.
