WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, 1979 7:38 P.M.
Mayor Stanek called to order a Special Meeting on
June 13, 1979 for the purpose of discussing the Dial-a-Ride or
Mini-Bus Transportation Plan as proposed by the Regional Trans-
"' portation Authority at 7:38 P.M. At roll call the following al-
dermen were present: Pepping, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams, Schooley,
Meurer. Absent: Nolan.
Also in attendance were City Attorney Narusis, City
Clerk Gilpin, Lynn Donarski of the Plan Commission; Joe Vaccia
and Dale Fitschen of the RTA; and Chuck Fernstrom of The Yellow
Cab Co. in McHenry.
Discussion was held on the proposed plans. The McHenry
County Paratransit Program Grant Agreement was also reviewed in
detail .
It was the consensus of opinion of the Council as ex-
"' by Alderman Pepping that the City should not become a
party to the RTA Agreement because (1) the Dial-a-Ride program
is not needed, (2) it is inefficient, and (3) it can be provided
or is already adequately provided by private enterprise in the
city.
Motion by Wieser, seconded by Harker, to authorize the
Mayor to inform the RTA that the moneys that are available because
of our non-involvement in the Dial-a-Ride program should be utilized
to improve railroad service to McHenry.
Voting aye: Pepping, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams,
Schooley, Meurer.
Voting nay: None.
Absent: Nolan.
Motion carried.
Motion by Adams, seconded by Wieser, to adjourn.

Schooley, Meurer.
Voting nay: None.
Absent: Nolan.
