The annual meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, April 23, 1979 at 8:24 P.M. with Mayor Stanek presiding. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Absent: None. Motion by Schooley, seconded by Adams, to accept the minutes of the April 16, 1979 Regular Meeting, of the April 18, 1979 Special Meeting, and of the April 18, 1979 Public Hearing as read. Voting aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Schooley, to sell a 1968 22 ton Dodge dump truck from the sewer plant to the village of McCullom Lake for $600. Voting aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams , Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Adams, to authorize pay- ment of a bill to Waukegan Excavating Co. for extension of a 12-inch Monday, April 23, 1979 page 3 watermain on Washington Street in the amount of $2,100.00 which will be reimbursed by Falcon Development Co. upon annexation of their property. Voting aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Mayor Stanek expressed his gratitude to retiring Alder- men Bolger, Smith and Rogers for their many years of service to the community. Motion by Nolan, seconded by Harker, to pass a resolu- tion commending Alderman Bolger for his 22 years on the City Coun- cil. Voting aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams , Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Pass: Bolger. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Adams, seconded by Datz, to pass a resolution commending Alderman Smith for his 16 years service on the City Council . Voting aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Adams , Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Pass: Smith. None. Motion carried.Absent: Motion by Schooley, seconded by Datz, to pass a resolu- tion commending Alderman Rogers for his 9 years of service on the City Council . Walsh presented the retiring aldermen with their framed resolutions and their City Council name- plates. Each retiring alderman addressed the Council , commenting on their past experiences as aldermen. Motion by Smith, seconded by Adams, to adjourn. Voting aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned at 9:16 P.M. • 4;2'.11,d0 clerk mayor SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY, APRIL 23, 1979 9:18 P.M. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stanek. Newly e- lected city officials; First Ward Alderman Jack Pepping, Second Ward Alderman George Harker, Third Ward Alderman Michael Wieser, and Fourth Ward Alderman Ronald Meurer were sworn into office by City Clerk Gilpin. At roll call the following aldermen were pre- sent: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams , Schooley, Meurer. Absent: None. Alcoholic Beverage License applications for fiscal year 1979-80 were presented by Mayor Stanek as Liquor Commissioner. Motion by Harker, seconded by Schooley, to increase Class "B" Liquor Licenses allowed in the city from one to two. Voting aye: Pepping, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Wieser, Adams , Schooley, Meurer. Voting nay: None. None. Motion by Schooley, seconded by Adams, to pay election judges $10.00 each for attendance at the election school . Voting aye: Pepping, Harker, Wieser, Adams , Schooley, Meurer.
