The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stanek. At roll call the folic acing aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Absent: None. Notion by Datz, seconded by Adams, to accept the minutes of the July 31, 1978 meeting as read. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Notion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to approve the pre- liminary and final plat of Pheasant Valley Unit No. 1 as presented by Neil Hunter of Lancer Coipration with corrections as outlined IIIby City Attorney Narusis. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers'. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Notion by Harker, seconded by Rogers, to grant a varia- tion on the Fence Ordinance to Steward MoVica of 4620 Bonner Drive, to allow a 7 foot high rear fence. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Notion carried. Notion by Schooley, seconded by Bolger, to grant a varia- tion on the Fence Ordinance to Mark Serpe of 4711 W. Home Avenue to allow installation of their fence with posts on the outside. Motion by Adams, seconded by Harker, to disburse $30,000.00 to the Police Pension Fund from the Corporate City Fund from 1977 tax money. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Adams, Schooley, Rogers, Harker, Smith, Datz. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Schooley, to allocate the July portion of Antirecession Funds in the amount of $2,340.00 equally for office supplies and sir help wages. Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan, to make payment to Layne-Western Company for partial payment No.1 in the amount of $16,722.00 for installation of well pump for Well No. 6 as recom- mended by Baxter & Woodman. August 7, 1978 Page 5 Notion by Adams, seconded by Schooley; to accept the recommendation of Baxter & Woodman and reduce the amounts to be retained for completion of work on Brittany Park Unit 1 from $75,000.00 to $35,000.00 and for Brittany Park Unit 2 from $165,479.20 to $82,000.00. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Nolan, to approve the Mayor's appoint of Thomas R. Davis to fill the unexpired term of John Comerio on the Planning Commission, term to expire 4-3-80. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Notion carried. Motion by Rogers, seconded by Schooley, to accept the re- signation of John Comerio fLom the Plan Commission with regret. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Notion by Harker, seconded by Adams, to enter two letters Ill written by Police Chief George Pasenelli into the official records of the City Council which ended Gary W. Leider, Officer James Rust and Special Officer Charles Ackerman for their outstanding work during a fire at 602 Devonshire Court. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Notion carried. August 7, 1978 Page 6 Motion by Rogers, seconded by Adams, to draw up resolu- tions for Mr. Leider, Officer Rust and Special Officer Ackerman to be presented at the August 21st Council Meeting. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Harker, seconded by Schooley, to advertise that tennis lessons will be given by John Eustice sponsored by the city for a six week period if the response warrants it. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Schooley, to amend the Stop Sign Ordinance by adding the following stop signs: westbound on Victoria Ave. at John Street; westbound on Charlotte Ave. at John Street and eastbound on Golfview Terrace at John Street. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schooley, Rogers. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Adams to adjourn.
