HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 11/21/1977 - City Council REGULAR MEETING MONDAY, NOVEMBERR 21, 1977 8 P.M. The City Council met in regular meeting with Mayor Stanek pre- siding. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Absent: None. Motion by Harker, seconded by Nolan to accept the minutes of the November 7, 1977 regular meeting with the following correction on the ordinance amending MC-83; "all meters serving water lines larger than 3/4 inch will be furnished by the city and paid for by the user". Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Adams, seconded by Schaedel to accept the minutes of the Special Meeting November 11, 1977 with an addition to the motion `—' amending Section V of the Subdivision Control Ordinance "and the first ordinance in the longer form, which was considered at the November llth meeting but was not passed, is attached to this special meeting." Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Harker to pass Ordinance amending Section V of the Subdivision Control Ordinance as presented by Bernard Narusis, City Attorney, dated November 21, 1977. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Monday, November 21, 1977 Page 2 Motion by Harker, seconded by Schooley to amend various sections of the Subdivision Control Ordinance, pages 21 thru 28. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Harker to approve final plats of Boone Valley #12 and #13 contingent upon the Residential Development Group complying with all the specifications and requirements recommended by city engineers, and the widening of Sarasota Street from 50 to 60 feet. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Schooley, seconded by Datz to accept the donation of about 4 acres of park land from :Zesidential Development Group located near Boone Valley Unit #13. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Adams, seconded by Harker to pay Willis Martin $250 as partial payment for his services on the city's new mapping program. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Bolger, seconded by Datz to pay Keno & Sons $16,047.00 as Payment Estimate No. 2 for the Iron Removal Project. Motion by Adams, seconded by Datz, to purchase a striping machine for the Public Works department. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan. Voting Nay: Schooley, Bolger. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Nolan, to authorize Schaedel to purchase several flower containers as decorative items for the city clerk's outer office at a cost not to exceed $40.00. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Harker to advertise for bids for an addition to the Public Works Maintenance Building, bid opening to be set for Dec. 15, 1977 at 2:30 P.M. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Adams, seconded by Nolan, to pass a resolution authorizing the city of McHenry to enter into an agreement with the Police Service Bureau for an appraisal of the City of MclIenry Police Department at no cost to the city. Motion by Smith, Seconded by Adams to authorize the Street and Sidewalk Committee to set an equitable cost schedule which the city should charge for plowing snow on streets outside the city limits, specifically four short streets which have been plowed for over 40 years. (First, Second & Third Avenues and Country Club Drive) . Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. It was the consensus of opinion of the Council to defer action on the Zoning Board of Appeals' recommendation regarding the Burke, Sawey, Will, etc. zoning petition until a future meeting. Motion by Smith, seconded by Adams to adjourn the meeting. Voting Aye: Schaedel, Schooley, Adams, Smith, Datz, Harker, Nolan, Bolger. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried.
