AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING 1014 N. RIVER ROAD
TO THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a written petition signed under oath by the legal owner of record of the
real estate hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk of the City of McHenry,
requesting that said real estate be annexed to the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, no electors reside on said real estate, said real estate is contiguous to
the corporate limits of the City of McHenry, and is not located within any other municipality;
and
WHEREAS, said real estate will not be disconnected from any public library district
or fire protection district, therefore, notice is not required to be given to those authorities;
and
WHEREAS, said real estate includes right-of-way which is not currently under the
jurisdiction of the City of McHenry, therefore, notice of the annexation has been served to
the Township Commissioner of Highways and the Board of Township Trustees by certified
mail; and

WHEREAS, the City of McHenry has determined that the annexation of said real
estate is in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The real estate legally described below and depicted on Exhibit A, a
complete and accurate plat of said real estate attached to this ordinance and incorporated
herein by reference, be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the
corporate limits of the City of McHenry, including any and all portions of adjacent street,

roads or highways as required by law.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
THAT PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 36,
TOWNSHIP 45 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL
MERIDIAN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT THE
NORTHWEST CORNER OF BLOCK 9 IN EDGEWATER SUBDIVISION,
ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED JULY 28, 1920 AS
DOCUMENT NO.48334, IN BOOK 4 OF PLATS, PAGE 19, AND RUNNING
THENCE EAST ON THE NORTH LINE THEREOF, FOR A DISTANCE OF

THEREOF, FOR A DISTANCE OF 85.00 FEET TO A POINT FOR THE
PLACE OF BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUING SOUTH 02 DEGREES,
03 MINUTES, 16 SECONDS EAST (BEARING ASSUMED) ON THE LAST
MENTIONED PARALLEL LINE AND SAID LINE EXTENDED SOUTH, FOR
A DISTANCE OF 118.84 FEET, MORE OR LESS, TO A POINT ON THE
CENTER LINE OF NORTH AVENUE, NOW VACATED BY DOCUMENT
NO. 356419; THENCE SOUTH 39 DEGREES, 41 MINUTES, 38 SECONDS
WEST ON SAID CENTER LINE, FOR A DISTANCE OF 68.68 FEET, MORE
OR LESS, TO A POINT ON THE NORTHEASTERLY LINE OF LINCOLN

SECTION 2: The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a certified copy of this
ordinance, together with said plat, to be recorded in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of
McHenry County, Illinois. Following the recordation of this ordinance and plat, a copy
thereof shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under the

authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
