MONDAY, JUNE 20, 1977 8 P.M.
The City Council met in regular meeting with Mayor Stanek pre-
siding. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan,
Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel, Schooley. Absent: None.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Adams, to approve the minutes of
the June 6, 1977 meeting as read.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Harker, to concur with the recom-
mendation of the Zoning Board of Appeals and pass an ordinance granting
a Special Use for Hospital Purposes to McHenry Hospital regarding a
private lane in Venice Park Addition.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz to award the contract for the
iron removal equipment and building at Well No. 5 to Keno & Sons of Highland
Park in the amount of $299,715.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Schooley, to advertise for bids on
Well No. 6 immediately after receiving approval from the Illinois EPA.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.

Motion by Datz, seconded by Harker, to pass a resolution estab-
lishing the street sweeper rental fee at $50 per hour.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley. .^
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Schooley, to amend the ordinance
setting mower fees as follows: 10,000 square feet and under - $15.00;
10,000 to 20,000 sq. ft. - $20.00; 20,000 sq. ft. to one acre - $25.00;
one acre and over - $25 per acre.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schaedel, seconded by Schooley to authorize the Mayor
and the Chairman of the Utility Committee to send a letter expressing
the Council's feeling on the Wastewater Facilities Planning Area pro-
posals without obligating the Council to any one Alternate Plan.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schooley, seconded by Datz to approve the Mayor's
appointment of William Thomas of 4401 Parkway Avenue to the Plan Com-
mission, term to expire 4-30-81.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.

Motion by Datz, seconded by Adams to approve the Mayor'sappoint-
ment of Fred Bienapfl to the Library Board, term to expire 7-1-81.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Adams, seconded by Harker, to approve the Mayor's
reappointment of Alida Wirtz to the Library Board, term to expire 7-1-81.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schooley, seconded by Nolan, to approve the Mayor's
appointment of Steve Stanek to the Library Board, term to expire 7-1-81.
Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Schooley.
Voting Nay: Bolger, Smith, Adams, Schaedel.
Absent: None.
There being a tie vote, Mayor Stanek cast an "aye" vote and declared
the motion carried.
Motion by Smith, seconded by Adams, to approve the Treasurer's
monthly report as read.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schaedel, seconded by Adams, to approve the Clerk's
Monthly Report as read.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.

Motion by Adams, seconded by Schooley, to pass a resolution ex-
pressing gratitude to David Benrud for his years of service to the Plan
Commission and that it be incorporated into the minutes of this meeting
and a copy be presented to David Benrud.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.

Woodman's recommendation that Brittany Builders' letter of credit should
be lowered from $300,000 to $75,000 to insure satisfactory completion of
the remaining work in Brittany Park.

Schaedel.

Motion by Schooley, seconded by Harker, to authorize Supt. Meyer
to close the following streets for the Fiesta Day parade route: Main Street
from Crystal Lake road to Green; Green from Main to Elm; Elm from Green to
Riverside; Riverside from Elm to Pearl; Pearl from Riverside to Court. Also
close Riverside Drive from Pearl to Broad for the waterfights following the
parade.

Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to approve required easements
in Boone Valley Unit No. 4 for Commonwealth Edison.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Adams,-°authorize Supt. Meyer to
meet with Purchasing Committee to draw up specifications for purchase of
a new city truck and to advertise for bids on said truck.

Schooley.

Motion by Schooley, seconded by Schaedel, to accept a quit
claim deed for all the roads, streets, easements for utilities, drainage
ditches and waterways in Lakelan4Part Units 1 through 4.

Schooley.

Motion carried.
Motion by Nolan, seconded by Adams, to authorize the Mayor to
send a letter to Board of Education District 156 indicating an interest in
the purchase of McCracken Athletic Field.

Motion by Smith, seconded by Schaedel, to cooperate with the
residents of First Avenue in repairing that street on the condition that /
the residents pay the cost of all materials needed to make the necessary
repairs, city laborers will do the work.
Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel,
Schooley.
Voting Nay: None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Motion by Schaedel, seconded by Schooley, to authorize Aug. 13
as Tag Day for the Johnsburg Pigtail League.
