At roll call, the following aldermen were present: Pepping, Harker, Datz, Smith, Wegener, Hromec, Schaedel. Bolger arrived at 8:03 P.M. Absent: None. Motion by Harker, seconded by Wegener to approve the minutes of the April 18, 1977 meeting as corrected. Voting Aye: Bolger, Pepping, Harker. Datz, Smith, Wegener, Hromec, Schaedel. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Datz, seconded by Smith, to accept the Clerk's Annual Report. Voting Aye: Bolger, Pepping, Harker, Datz, Smith, Wegener, Hromec, Schaedel. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. Motion by Smith, seconded by Harker, to accept the Clerk's and Treasurer's March reports as presented. Voting Aye: Bolger, Pepping, Harker, Datz, Smith, Wegener, Hromec, Schaedel. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None. Motion carried. The Clerk then presented the following resolution: "The returns of the election held on the 19th day of April, 1977, having been duly made to the City Clerk, and having been canvassed in open meeting, now therefore, be it resolved that Joseph B. Stanek be declared to be elected Mayor; and that Barbara E. Gilpin be declared to be elected City Clerk; and that William Brda be declared to be elected City Treasurer; that Elizabeth M. Nolan be declared to be elected Alderman of the First Ward; that Edward Datz be declared to be elected Alderman of the Second Ward; that Vincent H. Adams be declared to be elected Alderman of the Third Ward; that Ernest D. Schooley be declared to be elected Alderman of the Fourth Ward." Motion be Wegener, seconded by Harker, to pass the resolution. Voting Aye: Bolger, Pepping, Harker, Datz, Smith, Wegener, Hromec, Schaedel. Voting Nay: None. Absent: None Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:26 P.M. Clerk Mayor SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY, APRIL 25, 1977 8:33 P.M. Following adjournment of the Annual Meeting, newly elected city officials - Mayor Joseph B. Stanek, City Clerk Barbara E. Gilpin, Treasurer William Brda, First Ward Alderman Elizabeth Nolan, Second Ward Alderman Edward Datz, Third Ward Alderman Vincent Adams and Fourth li Ward Alderman Ernest Schooley - were sworn into office. A Special Meeting was convened at 8:33 P.M. to act on the Alcoholic Beverage License applications and any other business which might properly come before the Council. Mayor Stanek presided. At roll call, the following aldermen were present: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel, Schooley. Absent: None. Motion by Harker, seconded by Datz, to amend the liquor license ordinance to allow for the issuance of 18 Class A, 4 Class F, 2 Class G and 1 Class H liquor license for the 1977-78 fiscal year. Voting Aye: Bolger, Nolan, Harker, Datz, Smith, Adams, Schaedel, Schooley Voting Nay: None Absent: None Motion carried. Motion by Schooley, seconded by Nolan, to accept the Mayor's appointments as follows: Zoning Board of Appeals - Five Year Terms New Appointment-Anna Mae Cuda-term to expire 4-30-82 Reappointment-Clint Claypool-term to expire 4-30-82 Ronald J. Wilkins to serve as Chairman Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Nolan submitted a letter of resignation from the Zoning Board of Appeals because of her election as First Ward Alderman. Her term had expired. Monday, April 25, 1977 Page 3 PLAN COMMISSION - Five Year Terms Chairman Edward Datz and Alderman George L. Harker submitted letters of resignation from the Plan Commission. George Haasl whose term ex- ,— pired moved from the city's planning area. Willis W. Martin to fill the unexpired term of Datz to 4-30-81. John W. Comerio to fill the unexpired term of Harker to 4-30-80. New Appointment - Jack Pepping - term to expire 4-30-82. Jack Pepping to serve as Chairman. POLICE COMMISSION - Three Year Term Reappointment - Peter A. Adams - term to expire 4-30-80. POLICE PENSION BOARD - Two Year Term Reappointment - Ronald J. Waytula - term to expire 5-1-79. Voting Aye: Nolan, Harker, Datz, Schooley. Voting Nay: Bolger, Smith, Adams, Schaedel Absent: None There being a tie vote, Mayor Stanek cast an "aye" vote and declared the motion carried. Mayor Stanek authorized Supt. Fred Meyer to get preliminary cost estimates on sewer service for Virginia Street and water service estimates for Clearbrook Avenue and some property on Freund Avenue.
