AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A ZONING MAP AMENDMENT
FOR A 2.69 ACRE PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF GREEN
STREET, 200 FEET SOUTH OF KNOX PARK (RICKER), IN THE
CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Clerk by Gary and Loridale
Ricker requesting a Zoning Map Amendment to RS-2, Medium -Density Single -Family
Residential, for a 2.69 acre property located on the west side of Green Street, 200, feet
south of Knox Park (Subject Property); and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on said petition was held before the Zoning Board
of Appeals on April 19, 1998, in the manner prescribed by ordinance and statute; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said hearing, the Zoning Board of Appeals did
recommend to the City Council the granting of the requested Zoning Map Amendment;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the evidence and recommendation
from the Zoning Board of Appeals and finds that the approval of the requested Zoning
Map Amendment is consistent with the objectives of the City of McHenry Zoning
Ordinance to protect the public health, safety, morals and general welfare of its
residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the property commonly knows a 2.69 acre property located on
the west side of Green Street, 200 feet south of Knox Park, and legally described below
be granted a Zoning Map Amendment to Amendment to RS-2, Medium -Density Single -
Family Residential.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Parcel 1
Part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 44 North, Range 8 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the North
Quarter comer of said Section 2; thence Easterly parallel with the north line
extended Easterly of a parcel of land conveyed by Edwin V. Knox and his wife, to
Robert G. Miller and his wife, by Deed recorded May 23, 1956 as Document No.
308003, a distance of 72.0 feet to the center line of Barreville Road (Elgin Road);
thence Southwesterly along said center line, a distance of 330.78 feet; thence
Westerly parallel with the north line extended Easterly of said parcel of land,
conveyed by Knox to Miller, a distance of 56.0 feet to the place of beginning, in
McHenry County, Illinois.

Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Township 44 North, Range 8 East of
the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at the North
Quarter corner of said Section 2; thence Southerly along the east line of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section 2, a distance of 824.5 feet for the place of
beginning; thence Westerly parallel with the north line of a parcel of land
conveyed by Edwin V. Knox and his wife, to Robert G. Miller and his wife, by
Deed recorded May 23, 1956 as Document No. 308003, a distance of 291.0 feet;
thence Northerly parallel with the east line of said Northwest Quarter, a distance
of 330.0 feet to the place of beginning, in McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 2: In granting said Zoning Map Amendment, the City Council finds that
the requirements of Table 33 of the Zoning Ordinance have been met in that:
The requested zoning classification is compatible with the existing uses
and zoning property in the environs;
2. The requested zoning classification is supported by the trend of
development in the general area;
3. The requested zoning classification is consistent with the objectives of the
City of McHenry Comprehensive Plan; and
4. The requested classification promotes the public interest.

SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
