February 18, 1975 -- 8 p.m.
Memo: As per Municipal Code, this meeting was changed from Monday,
Feb. 17th due to holiday (Washington's Birthday) .
The City Council met in regular meeting with Mayor Stanek
presiding. At roll call the following aldermen were present: Bolger,
Datz, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pepping, Rogers, Wegener. Absent: None.
Motion by Harker, seconded by Wegener, to approve the minutes of
the Feb. 3, 1975, meeting, as read.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pepping,
Rogers, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek appointed William Brda to fill the unexpired term
of Thomas F. Bolger, City Treasurer, effective May 1 , 1975.
Motion by Hromec, seconded by Bolger, to accept the appointment
of William Brda to the office of City Treasurer as made by the Mayor.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pepping.
Rogers, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
Mayor Stanek appointed Terry Wilde to fill the unexpired term
of Earl R. Walsh, City Clerk, effective May 1 , 1975.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Pepping, to accept the appointment
of Terry Wilde to the office of City Clerk as made by the Mayor.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pepping,
Rogers, Wegener.
Voting "Nay" : None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.

of Terry Wilde to the office of City Collector as made by the Mayor.

Motion by Wegener, seconded by Datz, to open bids on two
police cars.
Voting "Aye": Bolger, Datz, Harker, Howard, Hromec, Pepping,
Rogers, Wegener.
Voting "Nay": None.
Absent: None.
Motion carried.
The following bids were received:
Ben Hansford Chevrolet, Inc. , Huntley, Illinois
$3,456.00 each, trade-in included
Buss Ford Sales, McHenry, Illinois
$3,675.00 each, trade-in included
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Hromec, to purchase two Chevrolet
police cars from Ben Hansford, Inc. , as per bid submitted.
Upon roll call the following vote was recorded:
Bolger-NAY; Datz-NAY; Harker-NAY; Howard-NAY; Hromec-AYE; Pepping-AYE;
Rogers-AYE; Wegener-NAY.
There being three (3) AYE votes and five (5) NAY votes, the
Mayor declared that the motion did not carry.
Motion by Bolger, seconded by Harker, to accept the bid on two
Ford Police cars submitted by Buss Ford Sales.
Upon roll call the following vote was recorded:
Bolger-AYE; Datz-AYE; Harker-AYE; Howard-NAY; Hromec-NAY; Pepping-NAY;
Rogers-NAY; Wegener-AYE.
There being four (4) AYE votes and four (4) NAY votes, Mayor
Stanek voted NAY and declared that the motion did not carry.
The Bids were referred back to the Purchasing Committee.
Motion by Rogers, seconded by Wegener, to advertise for bids on
new 2-ton dump truck.

Motion by Rogers , seconded by Wegener, to pay $251 .00 to the

Voting "Nay": None.

Motion carried.
