A Resolution of Support for the
Safe Routes to School Grant Program
WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has established the "Safe Routes to
School Grant Program"; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry, along with McHenry School District 15, has applied for grant
funding to install a traffic control signal at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and Dartmoor Drive in
the City of McHenry, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of Crystal Lake Road and
Dartmoor Drive will help make the City of McHenry a safer place for its residents and students,
particularly the students who attend Riverwood School.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY,
MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of McHenry endorses the efforts made by the City of
McHenry and McHenry School District 15 in applying for and attempting to secure grant funding from
Illinois Department of Transportation for the installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of
Dartmoor Drive and Crystal Lake Road.
Passed and approved this 3`d day of November, 2008.
