AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN DESCRIBED TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, a written petition, signed under oath by all of the legal owners of
record of the real estate hereinafter described, has been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of McHenry, Illinois, requesting that said real estate be annexed to the City of
McHenry; and
WHEREAS, no electors reside on said real estate; and
WHEREAS, said real estate is. contiguous to the corporate limits of the City of
McHenry, Illinois, and is not located within any other municipality; and
WHEREAS, said real estate in not part of any public library district and will not be
disconnected from any fire protection district and therefore notice is not required to be
given to those legal entities as designated in the statutes; and
WHEREAS, notice regarding the annexation of said real estate was sent by
certified mail to the Mchenry Township Highway Commissioner, Supervisor, and Board
of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of McHenry that said real estate
be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The real estate legally described on "Exhibit A", a complete and
accurate plat of said real estate attached to this Ordinance and incorporated herein by
reference, be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the corporate
limits of the City of McHenry, Illinois, including any and all portions of adjacent streets,
roads or highways as required by law.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of McHenry is hereby directed to cause a
certified copy of this Ordinance together with said map to be recorded in the Office of
the Recorder of Deeds, McHenry County, Illinois. Following the recordation of this
Ordinance and said map of the real estate described and annexed, a copy thereof shall
be filed in the Office of the Clerk of McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under
the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, McHenry County,
Illinois.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
