HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-97-848 - 11/05/1997 - AUTHORIZE SALE PERSONAL PROPERTY 60' TRAILERORDINANCE NO. 0-97- 848 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY NEGOTIATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF McHENRY WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, the personal property herein described was advertised for bid and no sealed bids were received; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry to sell said personal property at a mutually negotiated cost. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY as follows: SECTION I: Pursuant to Section 5/11-76-4 of Illinois Compiled Statutes, Chapter 65, the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry find that the following described personal property now owned by said jurisdiction is no longer necessary or useful to said jurisdiction and said jurisdiction would be best served by the said personal property sale: (1) 60 foot office trailer. SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 5/11-76-4, the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to sell the above described personal property now owned by the City of McHenry, which has been unsuccessfully advertised for bid, at a mutually negotiated cost. SECTION 3: Upon payment of the negotiated price, the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to convey and/or transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the successful purchaser. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
