HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-92-607 - 09/30/1992 - AUTHORIZE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTIONORDINANCE NO. 0-92-607 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF McHENRY WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry to sell said personal property at public auction for crash. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY as follows: SECTION 1: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry find that the following described personal property: VIN VEH N0, YEAR/MAKE/MODEL MIN VALUE F15FLJA0549 125 1980 Ford F-150 Pickup $ 500 lGlBL5479LA147199 314 1990 Chevrolet Caprice $1,000 lGlBL5179KA146847 317 1989 Chevrolet Caprice $1,000 now owned by the City of McHenry is no longer necessary or useful to the City, and the best interests of the City would be best served by its sale. SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the City of McHenry for cash at public auction to the highest bidder. Said property shall be sold at the auction scheduled for 11:00 A.M. October 17, 1992 at the Mt. Prospect Public Works Facility, 1700 Central Road, Mt. Prospect, Illinois 60056 SECTION 3: The City Administrator is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. SECTION 4: The City Administrator is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conferernce to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. The Auction shall be conducted in the manner set forth in the Specifications for sale of vehicles attached hereto and made a part of this ordinance. SECTION 5: No bid which is less than the minimum value set forth in the above list of property to be sold shall be accepted, unless a lower amount is authorized by the City Admininstrator orhis representative at the auction. SECTION 6: Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the successful bidder. SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by a vote of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
