AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF McHENRY
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities
of the City of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best
interests of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of the personal property
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and Council of the City of McHenry
to sell said personal property at public auction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY:
SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code,
Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-76-4, the Mayor and Council of the City
of McHenry find that the following described personal property:

now owned by said jurisdiction, it is no longer necessary or useful to the
jurisdiction, and the best interests of the jurisdiction would be best served by
its sale.
SECTION TWO: Pusuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City Administrator is hereby
authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by
the City of McHenry at public auction to the highest bidder. Said property shall
be sold at either of the following scheduled auctions:
11:00 A.M. September 29, 1990
Mt. Prospect Public Works Facility
3200 Central Road
Mt. Prospect, Illinois 60056
11:00 A.M. October 27, 1990
Evanston Public Works Center
2020 Asbury
Evantson, Illinois 60204
The City Administrator is authorized to determine at which auction said
property shall be sold.
SECTION THREE: The City Administrator is hereby. authorized and may direct the
Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal
property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said
public auction.
SECTION FOUR: The City Admininistrator is hereby authorized and may direct the
Northwest Municipal Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said
personal property. The Auction shall be conducted in the manner set forth in the
Specifications for the sale of vehicles attached hereto and made a part of this
ordinance.
SECTION FIVE: No bid which is less than the minimum value set forth in the list
of property to be sold shall be accepted, unless a lower amount is authorized by
the City Administrator or his representative at the auction.
SECTION SIX: Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Administrator is
hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer the title to the aforesaid
personal property to the successful bidder.
SECTION SEVEN: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, by a vote of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities, and
approval in the manner provided by law.
