HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-88-456.A - 06/01/1988 - AUTHORIZE CITY TO LET BIDS FOR PURCHASE OF CITY OWORDINANCE NO. 0-88-456.A AN ORDINANCE BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1: The Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry hereby determine that it is no longer necessary, appropriate or in the best interest of the City of McHenry that it retain title to the following described real estate and that said real estate is not required for the use of, or profitable to the City of McHenry: Lot 14 in Block 1 in Orchard Heights on the Fox, a Subdivision of Part of the South Half of Section 12, Township 44 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal. Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded September 14, 1954 as Document No. 283178 in Book 12 of Plats, Page 4, in McHenry County, Illinois. AND ALSO Lot 1 in Block 11 in Lakeland Park Unit No. 1, being a Subdivision of part of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8 East of i:he Third Principal Meridian, as recorded in Book 11 of Plats on pages 64 and 65 in the Recorder's Office in McHE�nry County, Illinois. AND ALSO Lot 6 in Block 10 in Lakeland Park Unit No. 1, being a Subdivision of part of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 27, Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, as recorded in Book 11 of Plats on pages 64 and 65 in the Recorder's Office in McHenry County, Illinois. ALSO KNOWN AS That, part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 26 and being a part of Lot 1 of the County Clerk's Plat of said Section, described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of Lot 17 of Mill Stream Addition to McHenry, Unit No. 1, according to the Plat thereof recorded July 16, 1946 as Document No. 193334 in Book 10 of Plats, page 33; thence East on the North line of Kent Avenue 60 feet to a po_.nt; thence North on a line parallel with the East line of Lot 17, aforesaid a distance of 85 feet to a point. for a place of beginning; thence North on a continuation of the last described line 100.5 feet to the mast and West Quarter Section line; thence East on said Quarter Section line 86 feet to a point; thence South on a line parallel with the East line of said Lot 17 a distance of 102.11 feet, more or less, to a point 85 feet North from the North line of Kent Avenue, aforesaid; thence West parallel with the North line of said Kent Avenue 86 feet to the place of beginning, all in Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in McHenry County, Illinois. SECT:=ON 2: That bids for the purchase of the aforesaid real estate shall be invited by the City and shall be received by the City Clerk at the McHenry City Hall, 1111 North Green Street, McHenry, Illinois 60050 until 5:00 o'clock p.m. on July 13, 1988 for the opening of bids; said bids shall be addressed to the Mayor and City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois, c/o the McHenry City Clerk and shall consist of a signed real estate sales contract, the form of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3: All bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of McHenry, Illinois at 8:00 p.m. on July 13, 1988, or as soon thereafter as the business of the City Council will permit. SECTION 4: The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities of the bidding and to review and study any and all bids and to make a contract award within 30 days after the bids have been opened and publicly read. SECTION 5: All ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6: This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under the authority of the Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois. 4 SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as providE-d by law. - PASSED THIS 1ST DAY OF JUNE, 1988.
