AN ORDINANCE RESTRICTING K N ALONG
FRONT STREET (ROUTE 31) WITHIN THE CITY OF MCHENRY
STATE SECTION 112WRS-86
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois acting by and through its Department of Transportation is
desirous of improving Front Street (Route 31) between High Street and the South City
Limits in the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, a portion of this project runs through the City of McHenry from High Street to
the South City Limits; and
WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the free flow of traffic and ensure safety to the
motoring public, the City of McHenry determines that the parking along Front Street
(Route 31) shall be prohibited.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, COUNTY OF MCHENRY, STATE OF
ILLINOIS, as follows:
Section 1. That parking shall not be permitted along Front Street (Route 31) from High
r�T—o the South City Limits within the City limits of the City of McHenry.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of McHenry will prohibit future parking at
such locations on or immediately adjacent to Front Street (Route 31) as may be
determined and directed by the State of Illinois to be necessary to ensure the free flow
of traffic and safety to the motoring public.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to attach a copy of this
r finance to the agreement dated November 24, 1987 by and between the State of Illinois
and the City of McHenry.
Section 4. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval according to law.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY, COUNTY OF MCHENRY, STATE OF
ILLINOIS, this 24th day of November, 1987.
