AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF MCHENRY
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of
the City of McHenry, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best
interests of the City of McHenry to retain ownership of the personal property
hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
McHenry to sell said personal property at a public auction to be held on Saturday,
October 31, 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY:
SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code,
Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-76-4, the Mayor and City Council of the
City of McHenry find that the following described personal property:

now owned by the City of McHenry, is no longer necessary or useful to the City of
McHenry, and the best. interests of the City of McHenry will be served by its sale.
SECTION TWO: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by
the City of McHenry, at public auction on Saturday, October 31, 1987, Evanston
Public Works Facility, 2100 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois at 11:00 A.M. to the
highest bidder on said personal property.
SECTION THREE: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and may direct the
Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal
property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said
public auction.
SECTION FOUR: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and may direct the
Northwest Municipal Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said
personal property. The auction shall be conducted and the auctioneer shall be
compensated in the manner set forth in the contract attached hereto and made a part
of this ordinance.
SECTION FIVE: No bid which is less than the minimum value set forth in
the list of property to be sold shall be accpeted, unless a lower amount is
authorized by the City Clerk or her representative at the auction.
SECTION SIX: Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Clerk is
hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid
personal property, to the successful bidder.
SECTION SEVEN: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, by a vote of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities
and approval in the manner provided by law.
