ORDINANCE NO. 0-87-417
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CONVERSION OF THE
EXISTING McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY INTO A PUBLIC
LIBRARY DISTRICT TO BE MAINTAINED AND OPERATED
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE ILLINOIS PUBLIC
LIBRARY DISTRICT ACT, IN THE CITY OF McHENRY,
McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the McHenry Public Library Board of Trustees of the
CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, McHenry, Illinois, desire to
convert the existing Public Library to a Public Library
District, maintained and operated under the provisions of the
Illinois Public Library District Act (Chapter 81, Section 1001-1
et seq., of the Illnois Revised Statutes, as amended); and,
WHEREAS, the McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the
CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY did, on February 2, 1987,
unanimously approved and adopted a Resolution, a copy of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference as
Exhibit "A", which called for said conversion and requested the
approval of said conversion by the Corporate Authorities of the
CITY OF McHENRY, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, McHenry,
Illinois, is an existing Public Library maintained by the City
of McHenry, Illinois; and,
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities of the CITY OF McHENRY,
Illinois, considered the request for approval of said conversion at its
regular meeting on March 4, 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Corporate Authorities of the
CITY OF McHENR.Y, Ill inois, as follows:
Section One: The recitals and preambles hereto are hereby
incorporated herein by reference.
Section Two: The Corporate Authorities hereby approve, in
accordance with Chapter 81, Section 1002-7 of the Illinois Revised
Statutes,
as amended, the conversion of the CITY OF Mc HENRY
PUBLIC
LIBRARY,
McHenry, Illinois, from
an existing Public Library to a
Public
Library
District, maintained and
operated under the provisions
of the
Illinois
Public Library District
Act (Chapter 81, Section 1001-1 ,
of the
Illinois
Revised Statutes, et seq.,
as amended).
PASSED this 11 th day of March, 1987.

WHEREAS,, The McHenry Public Library Board of Trustees of the
CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, McHenry, Illinois, desire to
convert the existing Public Library to a Public Library
District, maintained and operated under the provisions of The
Illinois 'A.*.. Public_. Library...,Dis_trict Act, (Chapter-81;- Section --
1001-1 et seq., of the Illinois Revised Statutes, as amended);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the McHenry Public Library
Board of Trustees of the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY,
McHenry, Illinois, as follows:
Section One. The McHenry Public Library Board
of Trustees of the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, McHenry,
Illinois, hereby call for the conversion of the existing public
library to a public library district maintained and operated
under the provisions of The Illinois Public Library District
Act, (Chapter 81, Section 1001-1, of the Illinois Revised
Statutes, et seq, as amended).
Section Two. The McHenry Public Library Board
of Trustees of the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, McHenry,
Illinois, hereby request the approval of said conversion by the
Corporate Authorities of the CITY OF McHENRY, McHenry, Illinois.

I, Marlene Griffith, do hereby certify that I am the duly
appointed, qualified and now acting Secretary of the McHENRY
PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES of the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC
LIBRARY, McHenry, Illinois, and the keeper of the records of the
proceedings of said of Board of Trustees of the McHenry Public
Library Board as authorized by its Chairman and Board of
Trustees, and that the attached copy of a Resolution is a true
and correct copy of a Resolution duly adopted by a unanimous
vote of the Board of Trustees of the McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES at the regular meeting of said Board, legally
held on the 3rd day of February, A.D. 1987, at which time the
Chairman and 8 Trustees voted "Aye" and upon which No Trustees
voted "Nay," as appears from the records and files in my office
remaining.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand as the
Secretary of the said McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
of the CITY OF McHENRY PUBLIC LIBRARY, this 5th day of
