AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not within the
corporate limits of any municipality, contains less than sixty acres, is
contiguous to and is wholly bounded by the corporate limits of the City
of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have caused a proper legal
notice to be published in the Northwest Herald, McHenry Edition, at least
ten days before passage of this Ordinance stating that annexation of the
said territory was being contemplated under the provisions of Illinois
Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13; and
WHEREAS, the territory described herein does not include any
highway under the jurisdiction of any township and is not located in a
Public Library District, so that legal notices relating to this
annexation ar•e not required to be given to any township nor to any
Library District; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry does not provide fire protection
services so that legal notice relating to this annexation is not required
to be given to any Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have determined that the
annexation of said territory will promote the public health, welfare,
safety and common good;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory, to -wit:
THAT PART OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 22, TOWNSHIP 45 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF
THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT A POINT IN THE
SOUTHERLY�OF LOT 4 IN LAKEWOOD SUBDIVISION, BEING A SUBDIVISION OF PART OF,THE SOUTH
EAST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 22, AS PER THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED JULY 12, 1920 AS
DOCUMENT NO. 48171, WHICH POINT IS EQUAL DISTANT" FROM THE SOUTHEASTERLY AND SOUTH
WESTERLY CORNERS OF SAID LOT 4; THENCE SOUTH 20030' EAST, 213 FEET TO THE POINT OF
BEGINNING; THENCE CONTINUING SOUTH 20030' EAST, A DISTANCE OF 110 FEET; THENCE SOUTH
71*12' WEST, 561.80 FEET MORE OR LESS TO THE MOST EASTERLY CORNER OF LANDS CONVEYED
BY FRED T. COLBY TO CLARENCE & FLORENCE OLSON BY WARRANTY DEED DATED MAY 15, 1945 AS
DOCUMENT NO. 202972; THENCE SOUTH 88023' WEST, 400 FEET TO THE EASTERLY LINE OF THE
DRIVEWAY AS SHOWN ON THE PLAT OF SAID LAKEWOOD SUBDIVISION, AFORESAID; THENCE SOUTHERLY
ALONG THE EASTERLY LINE OF SAID DRIVEWAY, AND THE EASTERLY LINE OF SAID DRIVEWAY
EXTENDED, A DISTANCE OF 32.39 FEET TO A POINT ON A LINE 118.83 FEET NORTH, AS MEASURED
ALONG THE WEST LINE THEREOF AND PARALLEL WITH THE SOUTH LINE OF
THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SAID SECTION 22; THENCE WEST ALONG SAID PARALLEL LINE TO THE
WEST LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 22; THENCE NORTHERLY ALONG THE WEST
LINE OF SAID SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 22, TO THE EDGE OF WATER OF MCCULLOM LAKE;
THENCE EASTERLY AND NORTHEASTERLY ALONG THE MEANDERING EDGE OF WATER OF MCCULLOM LAKE
TO THE INTERSECTION WITH A LINE DRAWN 25 FEET EASTERLY OF AND PARALLEL WITH THE EASTERLY
LINE OF A PRIVATE PARK LYING EASTERLY OF LOT 1 AS SHOWN ON,SAID LAKEWOOD SUBDIVISION;
THENCE SOUTHEERLY ALONG SAID PARALLEL LINE TO A POINT THAT IS NORTH 16005' WEST OF THE
SOUTHEASTERLY CORNER OF SAID PRIVATE PARK; THENCE NORTH 79° EAST, A DISTANC�4
FEET; THENCE SOUTHEASTERLY, A DISTANCE OF 120.07 FEET; THENCE SOUTHWESTERLY, T E
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID PRIVATE PARK; THENCE SOUTHERLY ALONG A LINE DRAWN AT RIGHT
ANGLES TO THE NORTHERLY LINE OF THE DRIVEWAY AS SHOWN ON SAID LAKEWOOD SUBDIVISION, A'
DISTANCE OF 215.0 FEET; THENCE WESTERLY PARALLEL WITH THE NORTHERLY LINE OF SAID
DRIVEWAY, TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, IN MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
ALSO
THAT PART OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 22, TOWNSHIP 45 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF
THE THIRD PRINCIPAL. -MERIDIAN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT THE SOUTHEAST
CORNER OF SAID SOUTHWEST QUARTER; THENCE WEST ALONG THE SOUTH LINE OF SAID SOUTH
WEST QUARTER TO THE; WATERS EDGE OF MCCULLOM LAKE; THENCE NORTHEASTERLY ALONG THE
WATERS EDGE OF MCCULLOM LAKE TO THE INTERSECTION WITH THE EAST 1INE OF SAID
SOUTHWEST QUARTER; THENCE SOUTH ALONG SAID EAST LINE TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING,'
IN MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS.

be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of
McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of McHenry,
Illinois, be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within
the corporate boundaries the above -described territory to the far side of
any adjacent highway and shall include all of every highway within the
area annexed,

SECTION 3 That a certified copy of this Ordinance together with an
accurate map of the territory hereby annexed shall be recorded in the
Office of the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry County, Illinois, and filed in
the Office of the County Clerk of McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval according to law.
