AN ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
McHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Corporate Authorities desire to adopt
a new zoning ordinance for the City of McHenry, Illinois.
Therefore, pursuant to the authority conferred by Illinois
Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 11-13-2, a Zoning
Commission of the City of McHenry, Illinois be and the same
is hereby created and provided for with the duty to
recommend the boundaries of zoning districts and
appropriate regulations to be enforced therein.
SECTION 2. The Zoning Commission shall consist of
seven (7) members and shall be appointed by the Mayor
subject to confirmation by the Corporate Authorities.
SECTION 3. The Zoning Commission shall hold public
hearings on a proposed zoning ordinance and zoning district
map of all land in the city which have been prepared by
Gann Associates in consultation with the Corporate
Authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois, and shall
afford persons interested an opportunity to be heard
thereon.
SECTION 4. After the final adjournment of the
hearings, the Zoning Commission shall make a final report
and submit a proposed new zoning ordinance and zoning map
for the entire city to the Corporate Authorities.
SECTION 5. The Zoning Commission shall cease to exist
upon the adoption of a new zoning ordinance for the entire
city.
SECTION 6. All ordinances, or parts thereof, in
conflict with the terms and provisions hereof, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be published in
pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate
authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 8. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form, as provided by law.
