AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE OBSERVATION AND
COMMEMORATION OF THE CITY OF MCHENRY
SESQUI-CENTENNIAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS the City of McHenry is rapidly approaching the
sesqui-centennial of its origin; and,
WHEREAS it is appropriate and desirable to stimulate
the observation and commemoration of this sesqui-centennial
anniversary through planned events and activities
initiated, implemented and coordinated by an independent
sesqui-centennial commission.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby established a City of
McHenry Sesqui-Centennial Commission, hereinafter referred
to as the "Commission". The Commission shall be an
autonomous entity totally independent of the City of
McHenry.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor shall appoint two
co -chairpersons by and with the approval and consent of the
City Council.
SECTION 3. That the co -chairpersons may appoint
as many members to the Commission as they, in their sole
discretion, deem desirable.
SECTION 4. The co -chairpersons shall determine and
establish the organizational structure of the Commission,
shall appoint all other commission officers and shall make
all initial organizational membership assignments in the
Commission.
SECTION 5. The purpose of the Commission shall be
to plan, promote and implement a commemorative celebration
of the City of McHenry sesqui-centennial anniversary.
SECTION 6. Neither the Commission nor any of its
members are, or shall be considered, agents, servants,
employees or contractors of the City of McHenry for any
purpose whatever.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.

ORDINANCE NO. Q85-365
AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR CITY OF McHENRY
SPECIAL SERVICE AREA NUMBER ONE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING MAY 1. 1985 AND ENDING APRIL 30. 1986.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. FINDINGS. On June 7, 1982, the City Council of the City
of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois adopted Ordinance Number 0-82-288
providing for the establishment of City of McHenry Special Service Area
Number One. On September 2, 1982 the City Council of the City of McHen-
ry, Illinois adopted Ordinance Number 0-82-296 enlarging the City of
McHenry Special Service Area Number One. On July 16, 1984 the City
Council adopted Ordinance Number 0-84-342 amending the boundaries of City
of McHenry Special Service Area Number One. Said Special Service Area
Number One consists of the territory described as enlarged in Exhibit 3
attached to Ordinance Number 0-82-296 and as amended on the Legal l De-
scription Rider attached to Ordinance Number 0-84-342. The City of
McHenry, Illinois is now authorized to levy taxes for the special ser-
vices in said Special Service Area as enlarged and amended.
SECTION 2. That the following sums are hereby appropriated to pay
the necessary expenses of Special Service Area Number One for the fiscal
period beginning May 1, 1985 and ending April 30, 1986, such appropria-
tions being for the following objectives and purposes:
for interest and principal . . . . . $108,840.00
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by
and under the authority of the Corporate Authorities of the City of
McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption, approval and publication as provided by law.
