AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF MCHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not
within the corporate limits of any municipality, contains
less than sixty acres, is contiguous to and is wholly
bounded by the corporate limits of the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have caused a
proper legal notice to be published in the McHenry Plain -
dealer at least ten days before passage of this Ordinance
stating that annexation of the said territory was being
contemplated under the provisions of Illinois Revised
Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13; and
WHEREAS, the territory described herein does not
include any highway under the jurisdiction of any township
and is not located in a Public Library District, so that
legal notices relating to this annexation are not required
to be given to any township nor to any Library District;
and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry does not provide fire
protection services so that legal notice relating to this
annexation is not required to be given to any Fire
Protection District; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have determined
that the annexation of said territory will promote the
public health, welfare, safety and common good;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT .ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory,
to -wit.
Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2,
Township 44 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at the Northwest Corner of Section 2;
thence East along the North line of the North--
east Quarter of said Section 2, a distance of
817.54 feet to the Easterly right of way line
of Route 31 for the place of beginning; -thence
Southerly along said Easterly right of way of
320.0 feet; thence Easterly at right angles to
the last described course, a distance of 200.00
feet thence Northerly parallel with the Easterly
right of way line of State Route 31, a distance
of 319.01 feet to the North line of the North-
west Quarter of said Section 2; thence West
along said North line, a distance of 200.0 feet
to the place of beginning. Being situated in
McHenry County, Illinois, and containing 1.467
acres more or less.
AND ALSO
Part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2
described as follows: Commencing at the
Northwest corner of said Section 2; thence
East along the North line of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section 2 for a distance of'
817.54 feet to the Easterly right of way line
of State Route 31; thence South along said
Easterly right of way line a distance of
320.0 feet for place of beginning; thence
continuing South along said Easterly right
of way line a distance of 290.0 feet; thence
East at right angles to last described line
a distance of 400.0 feet; thence North parallel
with said easterly right of way line a distance
of 290.0 feet; thence West at right angles to
last described course a distance of 400.0 feet
to the place of beginning in Township 44 North,
Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian in
McHenry County, Illinois.
be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the
City of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois.

SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of
McHenry, Illinois, be acid they are hereby enlarged and
extended to include within the corporate boundaries the
above -described territory to the far side of any adjacent
highway and shall include all of every highway within the
area annexed.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance
together with an accurate map of the territory hereby
annexed shall be recorded in the Office of the Recorder of
Deeds of McHenry County, Illinois, and filed in the Office
of the County Clerk of McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to
law.
