WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council has unanimously agreed to provide washrooms
and utility extension at its Petersen Park facilities for the users of the regional bike path
and Petersen Park attendees; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of extension utilities and constructing washrooms is
$100,000; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council hereby directs Staff to make application for a
Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $100,000 to facilitate the
project's completion; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council has unanimously agreed to improve its Petersen
Park with a 20-acre expansion, which would benefit not only the City of McHenry, but
also, the Village of McCullom Lake, the Village of Johnsburg and the Village of Wonder
Lake, as well; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the 20-acre expansion is $25,000; and
WHEREAS, the McHenry City Council hereby directs Staff to make application for a
Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $25,000 to facilitate the
expansion of Petersen Park.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council goes on
record in support of the City of McHenry's application for a Community Development
Block Grant in the amount of $100,000 to facilitate the extension of utilities and
construction of washrooms at Petersen Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the McHenry City Council goes on record in
support of the City of McHenry's application for a Community Development Block
Grant in the amount of $25,000 for the 20-acre expansion of Petersen Park.
FINALLY, BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be submitted as a part of
the grant application documentation.
