HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - O-81-262 - 05/04/1981 - AMEND SUB CONTROL ORD0-81-262 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SUBDIVISION CONTROL ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, COUNTY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, as follows: SECTION 1. Section VII B 18 of the Subdivision Control Ordinance of the City of McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following provision: A deceleration lane shall be provided for exit from a collector street onto a Federal, State, County, or Township highway or street. SECTION 2. Section VII E 1 i. of the Subdivision Control Ordinance of the City of McHenry be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: i. Deceleration lanes on Federal, State, County and Township highways onto major, secondary or collector streets of the City shall have a paved surface of not less than 290 feet in length which shall consist of: (1) A 40 foot radius at the proposed subdivision street entrance, with a minimum width of at least 12 feet measured from the State, Federal, County or Township road pave- ment edge; (2) A uniform 12 foot lane width from said roadway pavement edge for a minimum length of 100 feet measured from said radius; and (3) A lane whose width diminishes progressively and uniformly for a distance of 150 feet from the 12 foot wide lane last described to a point on said roadway pavement edge 290 feet from the proposed subdivision street entrance. There will be curb and gutter on the outside paved edge of said radius and 12 foot lane. SECTION 3. Section VII E 1 of the Subdivision Control Ordinance of the City of McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following as and for subparagraph j thereof: j. Deceleration lanes on a city collector street exit- ing onto a Federal, State, County or Township Highway shall have a paved surface of not less than 110 feet in length which shall consist of (1) A 40 foot radius at the proposed subdivision street, exit, with a mini- mum width of at least 8 feet measured from the road pavement edge for a collector street; (2) A uniform 8 foot lane width measured from the said collector street pavement edge for a minimum length of 100 feet measured from said radius; and (3) A lane whose width diminishes progressively and uniformly for a distance of 10 feet from the 8 foot wide lane last described to a point on said roadway pavement edge 110 feet from the proposed subdivision street exit. There shall be curb and gutter on the outside paved edge of said radius and 8 foot lane. SECTION 4. Section VI C 6 of the Subdivision Control Ordinance of the City of McHenry be and the same is hereby amended by changing the Surveyor's Certificate to read as follows: C. COUNTY OF McHENRY) This is to certify that I, Registered Illinois Land Surveyor No._ have surveyed and subdivided the follow property: ng described (insert legal description) as shown by the annexed plat which is a correct representation of said survey and subdivision. All distances are shown in feet and decimals thereof. I further certify that all regulations enacted by the City Council relative to plats and subdivisions have been complied with in the preparation of this plat, and that the property covered by this plat of subdivision (is) (is not) situated within five hundred (500) feet of a surface drain or watercourse serving a tributory area of six hundred and forty (640) acres or more. Given under my Illinois, this 19 hand and seal at day of SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and under the authority of the corporate authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois. SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law. PASSED this 4th day of May , 1981.
