AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING
AN OFFICIAL MAP
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, McHENRY COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. This Ordinance shall be known and may be cited as the Official
Map and Standards Ordinance.
SECTION 2. It is the purpose of this Ordinance (a) to adopt an Official
Map, (b) to adopt and designate official standards for the development and redevel-
opment of the municipality, and (c) to provide for the filing of copies of such
maps and standards in the office of the City Clerk for the information of the
public.
SECTION 3. The map of the City of McHenry and of the contiguous territory
outside of the city prepared on behalf of the City by Associated Planners of
Northbrook, Illinois entitled "Official Map" is incorporated herein by reference
and is hereby adopted as the Official Map governing the development of the City of
McHenry and of contiguous territory outside of the City.
SECTION 4. The official Map shall be identified by the following statement
marked, stamped, printed or written thereon:
"Adopted by reference as a part of the Official Map Ordinance
passed on April 20 , 1981 by the City Council of
the City of McHenry, Illinois, approved by Joseph B, Stanek,
Mayor, and attest, Barbara Gilpin, City Clerk."
SECTION 5. The Official Map may be adopted by reference in other ordi-
nances which regulate the development of the municipality without further filing
or publication except where Statutes require otherwise.
SECTION 6. The standards and specifications contained in the "Subdivision
Control Ordinance" of the City of McHenry, Illinois, adopted April 17, 1961, and as
amended, relating to the design, layout and installation of Streets, Alleys, Curbs
and Gutters, Sanitary Sewerage, Storm Water Drainage, Water Supply and Distribution,
Street Lighting, Sidewalks, Street Signs, Public Utility Locations, Guard Rails and
Landscaping, and Block and Lot Layout, and the standards and specifications
contained in "An Ordinance Regulating Development In Special Flood Hazard Areas"
adopted March 16, 1981, and as amended, be and the same are hereby incorporated
herein by reference and adopted as part of this Ordinance.
Standards set forth in the Comprehensive Plan of the City of McHenry
relating to the size of school sites, park sites and public building sites, be
and the same are hereby incorporated herein by reference and adopted as part of
this Ordinance.
SECTION 7. At least three (3) copies of this Ordinance with copies of
the Official Map attached thereto, shall be kept in the office of the City Clerk
for inspection by interested persons. The Clerk shall also make available copies
of this Ordinance for purchase at $ 5.00 each, either through duplica-
tion in advance of contemplated demand or upon order as required. The foregoing
copies of the Ordinance and Official Map shall be in addition to the original copy
which the Statutes require the Clerk to keep as a part of the official record of
enacted ordinances.
SECTION 8. Provisions of this Ordinance, including such maps and standards
the Ordinance adopted by reference, which also may be incorporated by reference in
other regulatory ordinances, shall be administered and enforce by the officers,
designated in such regulatory ordinances. Those provisions of this Ordinance not
incorporated in other ordinances shall be inforced by the Superintendent of Public
Works.
SECTION 9 . This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form by and
under the authority of the Corporate Authorities of the City of McHenry, Illinois.
SECTION 10. A violator of any provision of this Ordinance shall, upon con-
viction thereof, be fined not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00 for each day
such violation is permitted to continue.
SECTION 11 . This Ordinance, including the Official Map attached hereto,
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publica-
tion as provided by the Statutes.
