AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not within
the corporate limits of any municipality, is uninhabited and contig-
uous to the City of McHenry, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is owned by
the City of McHenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be and
the same is hereby annexted to and made a part of the city of McHenry,
Illinois:
That. part of Lot 7 of the County Clerk's Plat of part of Sections 22
and 23, Township 45 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, according to the Plat thereof recorded May 6, 1902 as
Document No. 14082 together with that part of the Southeast Quarter of
the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of- Section 22, aforesaid,
and that part of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of said
Section 22, aforesaid, bounded by a line described as follows: Com-
mencing at the intersection of the East line of said Lot 7 with the
center line of McCullom Lake Road; thence Northwesterly along the
center line of said road, said center line forming an angle of 43
degrees, 56 minutes, 00 seconds with the East line of said Lot 7,
as measured from North to Northwest, a distance of 100.0 feet for a
place of beginning of the tract of land to be described; thence South-
westerly at right angles to the center line of said road, a distance
of 84.42 feet; thence Southwesterly in a straight line, a distance of
966.59 feet to a point on the Easterly line of the Chicago and Northwestern
Rai] -road Company right of way, being also the Westerly line of said
Lot 7, which is 776.48 feet Northerly, as measured along the Easterly
line of said right of way, of the Southwest corner of said Lot 7; thence
Northerly along the Easterly line of said Railroad right of way, a dis-
tance of 1859.16 feet to its intersection with the center lane of
McCullom Lake Road; thence Southeasterly along the center lane of said
road, being a line which forms an angle of 24 degrees, 33 m-inutes, 25
seconds, as measured from South to Southeast with the line of said
Railroad right of way, a distance of 470.47 feet to a point of curve;
thence continuing Southeasterly along the center line of said road,
being a curved line, convex to the Southwest and having a radius of
1681.0 feet, a distance of 356.22 feet, arc measure, to a point of
tangent; thence continuing Southeasterly along the center lane of
said road, being the tangent of said curved line, a distance of 751.59
feet to an intersection with the aforedescribed center line of McCullo:_.
Lake Road which forms an angle of 43 degrees, 54 minutes, 00 seconds
with the East line of said Lot 7, aforesaid; thence Southeasterly along
the aforedescribed center line of said road, a distance of 388.95 feet
to the place of beginning, in McHenry County, Illinois_
SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of McHenry
be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within its
corporate boundaries the above -described territory.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together
with an accurate map or maps of the territory hereby annexed, shall
be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry County, Illinois,
and shall also be filed with the County Clerk of McHenry County,
Illinois.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
