AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO
THE CITY OF MCHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not within
the corporate limits Qf any municipality, contains less than sixty
acres, is contiguous to and is wholly bounded by the corporate
limits of the City of McHenry; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have caused a proper
legal notice to be published in the McHenry Plaindealer at least
ten days before passage of this Ordinance stating that annexation
of the said territory was being contemplated under the provisions
of Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13; and
WHEREAS, the territory described herein does not include
any highway under the jurisdiction of any township and is not
located in a Public Library District, so that legal notices rela-
ting to this annexation are not required to be given to any town-
ship nor to any Library District; and
WHEREAS, the City of McHenry does not provide fire protec-
tion services so that legal notice relating to this annexation is
not required to be given to any Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, the Corporate Authorities have determined that
the annexation of said territory will promote the public health,
welfare, safety and common good;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF McHENRY, MCHENRY COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory, to -wit:
All that part of .the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter_
of Section 27, described as follows: Coewlencing at h-point
on the North line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 27
which is 944 feet West of the Northeast Corner of the said
Northwest Quarters thence South on a line parallel -with the East
line of said Northwest Quarter, 382.82 feet to an iron stake
on the shore of Mccullom's Lake; thence South 74 degrees and
6 minutes Hest along the shore of McCullom's Lake, 52 feet for a
place of beginnings said place of beginning being the Northwest
Corner of first tract of land descr4.1#ed in "the Deed from Elola
z. Boyle and others to -Adolph J. Christiansen and wife, dated
August 25, 1938 and recorde3 is the Recorder's Office in Book 235-
of Deeds, page 3741 thence South on a line parallel with the said
East line of the said Northwest Quarter, 338.35 feet to an iron
stake; thence South 74 degrees and 6 minutes West, 104 feet to
an iron stake; thence North on a line parallel with the said
East line of the said Northwest Quarter, 338.35 feet to an iron
stake on the shore of McCullom's Lake; thence North 74 degrees
and 6 minutes East, along the shore of Mccullom's Lake, 104
feet, more or less, to the place of beginning (excepting that
port thereof described in the Deed from Elmer R. Ingham and Helene
Ingham, his wife, to Benjamin B. �jQldberg by Deed recorded
October 14, 1952 as Document No. �'53083)i ALSO
A certain piece of land lying North of and adjoining the above
described tract of land, described as follows: Commencing at the
sost Northerly Corner of the above described tract of land,
and running thence South 74 degrees and b minutes Hest along the
shore of McCullom's Lake, 104 feet, more or less, to the Northwest
Corner of the above described tracts thence North on a line
parallel with the East line of said Northwest Quarter, 17 feet,
more or lose, to the water's edge of McCullom's Laker thence
Easterly along the water's edge of McCullom's Lake to the intersection
with the East line of the above described tract extended North to
the said water's edge; thence South 17 feet, more or less, to the
place of beginning, all of the above in Township 45 North, Range 8
East of the Third Principal Meridian, in McHenry County, Illinois.
(with a common address of 4802 West Shore Drive (Bowlin)
be and the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City
of McHenry, McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of McHenry,
Illinois, be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include
within the corporate boundaries the above -described territory to
the far side of any adjacent highway and shall include all of
every highway within the area annexed.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this Ordinance together
with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed shall be
recorded in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry County,
Illinois, and filed in the Office of the County Clerk of McHenry
County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law.
