AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF McHENRY , ILLINOITIT, OF WHEN$Y
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is not
within the corporate limits of any municipality, is uninhabited
and contiguous to the City of McHenry, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is owned
by the City of McHenry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF McHENRY, ILLINOIS, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be and
the same is hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of
McHenry, Illinois:
`Chat part of Lot 2 in the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Township
North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as
follows: Commencing az the Northwest corner of said Northwest Quarter;
thence Easterly, along the North line of said Lot 2, a distance of
1,017.54 feet for the place of beginning; thence continuing Easterly,
along said North line, a distance of 1,363.14 feet to the Northwest
corner of a tract of land conveyed to the City cr' McHenry and recorded
as Document No. 399375; thence Southerly, along the West line of sa__f
'--ract of land, a distance of 349.79 feet measured (350.06 feet Deed,
zo the Southwest corner of said tract of land, -.hence Easterly, alor._
the South line of said tract of land, a distance of 247.92 feet meas.ire�:
1247.76 feet Deed) to the East line of Lot 2, a-foresaid; thence Soutner ,,
along said East line, a distance of 144.39 feet z.o the Northeast corner
of a tract of land conveyed to Preston N. Harris and Lucille E. Harr-s,
his wife, and recorded as Document No. 443686; thence Westerly, alon,7
the North line of said Harris land, a distance cf 291.0 feet to the
Northwest corner of said Harris land; thence SeLzheri_y, along the Wes-,

of land conveyed to Robert G. Miller and Marilyn J. Miller, his wife,
and recorded as Document Nos. 443687 and 308008, a distance of 658.72
feet. measured (660.0 feet Deed) to the Northeast corner, of a tract of
land conveyed to Howard E. Knox and Mary Ann Kncx, his wife, and recorded
as Document No. 498586; thence Westerly, along the North line of said
Knox: land, a distance of 265.0 feet to the North-.-:est. corner of said ::nex
land; thence Southerly, along the West line of said Knox land a distance
of 165.0 feet to the South line of Lot 2, aforeEaid; thence Westerly,
along said South line, a distance of 755.22 feet to the West line of thr-
East half of said Lot 2; thence Northerly, along said West line a distar,-_
of 708.13 feet; thence Westerly, a distance of 80.09 feet to the
Southeast corner of a tract of land conveyed to Phillip M. Doherty
and Maureen E. Doherty, his 1,l fe, and recorded as Document No.
579432; thence Northerly, along the East line of said Doherty land;
a distance of 290.0 feet to the Northeast corner of said Doherty
land; thence Westerly, along the North line of said Doherty land,
a distance of 200.0 feet to the Southeast corner of a tract of land
conveyed to Raymond D. Stilling and Adele Stilling, his wife, and
recorded as Document No. 537231; thence Northerly, along the East
line of said Stilling land, a distance of 318.91 feet to the place
of beginning, in McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 2. That the boundary lines of the City of McHenry
be and they are hereby enlarged and extended to include within
its corporate boundaries the above -described territory.
SECTION 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance,
together with an accurate map or maps of the territory hereby
annexed, shall be recorded with the Recorder of Deeds of McHenry
County, Illinois, and shall also be filed with the County Clerk of
McHenry County, Illinois.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval according to law.
